Title: Help please!
Post by: tehsprayer on Fri, 24 February 2012, 15:41:54
Hello, I'm new to getting a mechanical keyboard.

I'm thinking about getting a black widow (just normal edition) for around $80.

I've heard that rosewills are better but from reviews on youtube, etc. The BW looks like it has a sleek design and *Hopes for a good wrist rest*.

Also, I'm thinking if I should get the stealth edition with brown keys or blue (normal keys)
The stealth edition is an extra $10.

I'm looking for a keyboard that has that good clicking and tactile feel but is also good for gaming.
I did research on the BW and the blue keys are 50g pressure which I think is fine for gaming though.
Give some opinions on what keyboard I should get. I'm from Canada with about $100 max budget

Thanks, Alex.

Hey.

MX Blues are clicky and tactile. Brown are also tactile but they aren't clicky.

I own a BlackWidow and I haven't had any issues with it (but I've heard many horror stories).

Here are some other good brands.
Ducky
Leopold
Cooler Masters Quickfire Storm

Bump! I am now thinking about the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid because of it's price, the good quality feedback and that it is not glossy so the keyboard doesn't get much finger prints. << Good choice?

Welcome to Geekhack!

CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid with blues, no other keyboard out there in your price range should compare.  Matches everything you're looking for in your specifications.  It has a great price and the build quality of the board is great according to others on this forum who have experienced it.

Let us know what you decide!

I would take the logos and better quality. I myself had to return 2 BWs before I gave up on them.

I've said it time and time again... :fish:

CM Quickfire's are the best bang for your buck TKL mech out there... Especially the red's.  Had a BWU, returned it for better boards.  Do yourself a favour and grab it before CM realises what a brilliant product they have on their hands and raise their prices!
