I have been wondering about this, I own one, I personally love it
-
You don't work for AprilS do you?
Fill me in who/what that is, Im newish.
I can see your not, your post level is over 9000!!

I loved my Das, I've since moved onto a tkl filco, but if Das released a tkl tomorrow I'd get it.

She is the Das (Metadot) Internet Marketing Manager.
Unfortunately she gave up on Geekhack Long Ago.
I wish I worked for her I suppose. I should be getting payed for all this free advertising!

Where is the review? I would like to read it.
My personal opinion:
It may be a fingerprint or a dust magnet, but it is one of the best keyboards to type on in my opinion. After having typed on AEK/AEK II at work for almost a year, I pulled my Das out of the box again this past week and loved every minuted I typed on it.

I say whatever u got in ur review is good enough, considering plenty of reviews on Das are out there. What you eventually contribute is an additional affirmation of what others have been talking about regarding to that keyboard.
-
Well, I dunno if your review will have much impact.
Mine has 61,849 views versus 14 for yours.

Even the Number One Keyboard Expert on the Planet forgets from time to time :-)

He asked for an honest opinion!
LOL fair enough, but I guess he did no expect to be stumped.

I appreciate it, however I write reviews to please myself and the view people that watch them, not you.
Even though your opinion may have more effect considering its more popular, mine will still be seen, that gives me satisfaction.

I do like your review, I skimmed. Seems very thorough

if i am a keyboard noob -> 5/5
if i rate it now it would be ->3/5
Why? Cherry switches are cherry switches, they are nice to type on regardless which keyboard they are installed upon. the real comparisons left are then the build quality, material, finish, and style. I can't care less about the extra media keys. so those are out of the pictures for me.

Hey guys, I figured I'd make my first post in this thread because, yeah, it's on topic. Das Keyboards... It seems like they're popular on here, lots of people seem to like them, though many seem to hate em, too. Is it mainly the size and glossy surface issue? I saw on the classifieds page that someone said they'd have a hard time selling a Das on here. Is that because most GH users have already taken one for a spin or what? I've been wracking my brain all week, reading the wikis, reading reviews, trying to decide on my first mechanical. A brand new Das pro via student discount or keep searching for something else, perhaps waiting for something else cool to pop up in the classifieds?

First time buyers tend to like it a lot. I would have loved it too if it was my first. It is still a great keyboard to own. I mainly have problem with its bulkiness.
You will still be able to sell it here, but it will not be as quick as selling a leopold or filco.

It was the first keyboard I bought, but I still love it, maybe more than any of other keyboards, and they include the Topre. I think it's because I like the blue Cherry to begin with, and also because I like plate-mounted keys more than PCB-mounted ones.
