I'm scoping out the 87U's on EK, particularly the Silent Variable. I have an HHKB already so I know how the 45's feel and I like it, but I want to know how 35's compare. Or if I should try the 55's since I'm typing on Cherry Blacks right now and not breaking a sweat. lol

A 45g switch on HHKB and realforce feel different.

The only thing I've noticed from my variable topre (bearing in mind, I don't home-row type) is that if I happen to rest my fingers on the lighter weighted keys while thinking (I'm a coder), sometimes I'll start inputting long strings of aaaaaaaaaaaaa before I realize.

I am usually a home row typer and think the variable would be nice for typing.
My 86U when I had it back then was nice for typing but keep in mind that is 30g/45g/55g vs. the 87U 35g/45g/55g.
The 30g felt extremely light.
Did not like the variable for when I had to game.
I think it depends on what purpose you intend for the Realforce.
If you like Cherry Blacks and do not mind the heavier switch, I say go for the 55g Realforce.
They feel so crisp :D
