Both are blues witch and almost brand new. I like the led backlit keys on the Ducky but I am hesitant because (1) the other guy seems too eager to accept the deal and (2) another user noted that he does not enjoy typing other the Ducky Shine as much as on his Filco blues witch (87 key).
This is my first post so please excuse my civilities or lack thereof. :boink:

Wrong place to ask this since GeekHack is full of Filco fanboi's.... Now saying that. I reckon keep your Filco. Ducky's are good but between the two... I'd keep the Filco and get the Ducky when you've saved up enough if you still like the idea of backlight.
-
Hell no. Ducky is f*cky and sucky.
I would consider Geekhack full of Filco fan-boy but rather people who are intelligent enough to understand price per quality.
Backlight to "so-called gamers" are like Neon-lights to ricers.

that's like asking should I exchange my Nissan GTR for a Hyundai Excel

AWW.... FOOLY SICK BRO.

Dont get me wrong, I did own two Ducky 9008 and Ducky Shine. They feel like crap compared to Filco.
I gave one of the 9008 to my lil bro who couldn't care less for gaming peripherals and sold the other.
I got the Ducky Shine hoping they would fix all the flaws in their early models but disappointingly didn't. Now it's junked in the storeroom, waiting to be given away to any friend that want a mech keyboard but cant afford one.
P.S Even Cherry keyboard have better QC and refinement.

I'd also say NO.
I think its not a question of fanboys v.s. non-fanboys.
There is a reason why a lot of people buy filco keyboards even if they are expensive. Its because the value you get from filco keyboards compared to the quality and build is close to if not equal.
I am imagining it as this :
Value = Quality / Price
The filco is expensive yes, but the quality is also good and it makes the ratio higher. For ducky keyboards the price is definitely cheaper yes but the quality is may be lower in comparison to other keyboards and that brings the ratio of price and quality lower than the ratio for filco keyboards. So it may be cheaper but if the price per quality isn't good then some people will always find it a bad buy.
Keep the filco. If you are only after the swag of backlighting... it is not worth it.

IoYou'd be fine with the ducky and it's really among your best options for backlit atm.
But I think backlit is overrated and useless, so I would never trade away a Filco for that reason. Backlit bothers me more than anything but I guess people have their reasons for wanting it. I mean how often do you type in really dark rooms? That's bad for your eyes. And how often do you look down at your keyboard in said dark room typing sessions? If you touch type I'd assume hardly ever. If you really think you do have a need for it though, its a fair trade.

I tested the Ducky and quality is poor compared to the Filco so I had to say no. Actually I am looking for backlit keyboards because sometimes early in the morning when it's still dark (5AM today for example) I would use the computer while everybody is sleeping on the back right next to the computer table and I prefer leaving the light off not to disturb them (we only have neon lights, not having enough room for a tabletop lamp...)
Anyways, I kept the Filco and do not regret at all. Test drive another keyboard just shows me how superior Filco keyboards are. (This Filco is my first mechanical keyboard).
How about Leopold? I'm expecting a brown switch FC700R to arrive later this month.

You did the right thing.
Yeah I'm looking forward to testing out the new Leo's too. Cherry Stabilisers but should be interesting to see how the PBT keycaps stack up and overall quality.

QFT!
I've been saying Duckys Sucky but Kamikazi gets all Bansai on me.
My buddy Panda-R wouldn't sell two in a row if he thought the quality was up to snuff.
Aww Rip mate, I don't do that... I put more grunt into it! More like BAAAAANZAAAAAAI!!!!!!! :flame: Though I'm sure you're not taking offence at it 'cause it's nothing personal... I'm just stating my opposing opinion.
Seriously though... I'm just going by my experience as a Duck owner and it's been peachy for me so when people flame the board off hand and over zealously (looking at you FinancialWar) I have to put my 2 cents in...

No

where'd you get the fc700r?
-
hell no.
what the heck is wrong with ur ninja anyway?
-
where'd you get the fc700r?
Pre-order for Korea. They only manufacture like 200 pieces this time and last I checked the number of available orders is like -60. (minus 60). :D Anyways, Leopold doesn't use the same type of stabilizers as Filco does so I'm gonna pass and sell it.

LOL considering how the "ricer" Filco fanbois mess with fancy keycaps I wouldn't be so quick to bash:cool:
-
Pro tip: Don't come to Filco fanboy forums and ask if you should purchase another brand.
-
where'd you get the fc700r?
They are coming to Australia in Mid April also... I've got one on order. As I mention before... Looking forward to testing it out.
-
if you are considering backlit and don't mind black/clear switches take a look at Deck; nice keyboards man..
Yeah I've heard really good things about DECK's... Can't really get them here in Australia though which is a bummer. And I can only imagine what they'll charge for shipping!
