Damn, I got the email and went there within 1 minute.
Said they were in stock and I added to cart but when you went to checkout it said sold out.
WTF?
-
See the other 2 threads on this... standard procedure on CC caps. You need a faster email provider.
-
Same here
-
c'mon man, you've been here long enough to know these sell out quick as hell.
-
lol, I knew they would sell out fast. But since I don't lurk around here as often as I do, the first I heard about them was in the email. O well... Hopefully the next batch is a little cooler than the 3D thing
-
I use yahoo mail. 1 minute?????? How many they sell, two?
-
Yahoo? you wish 1 minute... more like ~3-4 from when it hits their inbound gateway to when it's in your inbox. Are you accessing it via IMAP? That's the fastest and that can still be forcibly delayed by up to 20 minutes.

I should post a pic of my son in his CC 3d pajamas.

Same happened to me eariler!
-
There's nothing wrong with my email provider; I received the EK newsletter, checked my email 30 minutes later and clicked the link. One per customer it says. Sold out it says. Bah humbug I say. $3 to ship a gum-sized piece of plastic cross-border!? And how many GH members I wonder have bought multiple $19.50 key caps, for future resale at $80? Sorry, but this is shoddier than Ticketmaster service. In case you can't tell, I am really steamed. :frusty:
-
Curses!!!!!! Was at the Gym when the Mailout went out.. zzzZZ Missed another freaking clickclack sale.
Yawn. :(
-
And $14 postage seems a lil retarded. :l
$57.34 for 2 keycaps.
:l
-
Not that it matters.. But I would have paid that too. :l
-
dammmittttt
-
Marketing scheme to get more hits to their site!!! they never had any!!! the cake is a lie.
-
Yeah, that postage is a bit of a shafting...

GAH EVERY TIME!
that 3d skull looks so sexy too
-
I refuse to pay 20$ shipping for 1 keycap
-
I just checked shipping a red arrow set and it was $3.51 for shipping... are the CC caps more to ship? If so i'll never be ordering from EK. That sounds shady as ____ .
-
chances are people complaining about high shipping are not in the US
-
My internet crashes for five hours and cc's go on sale. **** this job and **** my life.
-
did they ask you if it was a fetus skull since it was so tiny?
-
Google Mail ftw
-
Google Mail ftw
Actually nice people on GH keeping you informed..FTW (thanks to those who messaged me).
If you see the newsletter and then click EK you are probably too late anyways.... remember CC's are serious business now.
-
So to be serious for a sec I'll trade one of these keys for a SIGNED picture of my ClickClack collection.

I'm always missing EK sales...

For the life of me, I can't understand why these things are that popular. I really don't like them, hey.
*braces for banning and/or shunning*
Seriously though, personal tastes aside, I'm amazed that they're selling so successfully at that price.

One of these would be hilarious.

I agree, I don't get the appeal. That said, I did try to buy one for flipping purposes.

I too have no interest, but having been involved in a collectible card game (because I found the game itself fun) I know that with the minimal quantities CC can produce, there's more than enough demand from the usual market segments: True collectors, speculators, impulse buy Mr Jones.
While the artistry is impressive, none of the designs have interest for me. Of course, I also have only participated in 1 GB and that's the riddler ? ... just for the lulz, gotta have them once in a while.
-
Hmmmm......You obviously haven't seen one in real life.
(Attachment) 43057 (Attachment) 43058
That is true enough. I've never beheld one in the plastic.
-
Well ****.
How often do these go on sale?
-
very 2-3 months? but almost never the same...
-
****!
I'm going to guess that the stock had to have been about 10 per SKU. If they ran out that quickly there's no way it could have been more then that.

Why EK has monopoly over Click Clack sales?
Because of that People outside US can hardly get their hands on any key because:
1. Always are put on sale when in Europe is 02:00-04:00 am so people is sleeping
2. Shipping price is just stupid outside the US.
I've complained about that too many times for now and it seems they don't care about people outside US when it comes to sell Click Clack keys. And it sounded even worse when I read those keys where the ones that were going to be sold tomorrow in the 4Grabs subforum or at least this is what I understood.
The 4Grabs system is way better because everybody have the same chances to get them.
-
I have calculated that after import taxes it will cost me 71$ in total to get one 3d clickclak key
-
Yeah, 3:30 AM. This is ridiculous
-

That's actually a steal considering what they go for on some "behind-the-forum" trades. Yes, folks.. I've seen kidneys being offered for one of these.
-
I bet the 3D will be pretty desired in the not to distant future so $71 is more of an investment. Although once it is in your hands I doubt you would be willing to part with it
-
^ The true genius behind the new CC 3D concept. :hail:
-
@whiskerbox I love the 3D. That's the first CC I would have bought (assuming I somehow beat the hordes).
Personally, I hate this rush/sniper thing. If I ever managed to get some, I'd turn it around and put them up for sale by a lottery. Lots of people want one, but they are mostly being hoarded. If everyone only had a few, it might make turn into an even more vibrant trading scene. I love seeing all the trading going on (and no cash for stuff is not a trade!).
Just my socialistic two cents.
-
@scrubadub
I think Alot of people felt this way until they got one. Once you get one the thought of socialism flys out of your head and the crack mentality kicks in lol. Kinda like potato chips you can't have just one.
-
guilleguillaume's point is still valid even if $71 is a good investment for a CC. People in the US can get them for much cheaper, yielding a higher margin if they decide to flip it. Not to mention that they go on sale in the dead of night in Europe.

yeah.... you're right.... the newsletter arrived at 2:58AM.... what a time :-(
-
Frankly I have never been able to get a CC from EK, but that's just part of the game. It's not a perfect system, but I think CC has made great strides to help rectify this situation with his 4grabs sales.
-
Oh don't get me wrong, I'd definitely keep one or two for myself. The 3D one is my favorite by far. I guess what I mean is if I somehow managed to order a bunch (like some did from EK) and didn't want them all, I'd distribute it by lottery. Personally, I like sixty's idea of doing the Red Alert leftovers by lottery rather then the race to post PMs, hitting reload, etc. I don't bother with trying to get in on those time based sales, but I will be participating in the lottery one.
-
Lottery is a great idea, I should have thought of that for my RGBY sale.
-
A long while back I did some lottery type sales and the responses were mixed (if maybe slightly on the negative side). If I am as unlucky as I feel and the 4Grabs thread is contributing to issues relating to access on this site then I will probably have no other choice than to move to a lottery type system for those particular sales, not "all" sales, just the first come first serve ticket ones. The ticket system works with my current availability as well as being significantly less complicated and time consuming than a lottery system. But who knows, perhaps I will bring back the lottery type from time to time anyways, just to even out and yet still mix things up!
=)
Don't forget that my vendor forum is set up in and for this community, your "competition" is really only your fellow GH enthusiats. Much of what I do here is based on feed back that I have received. Boy have we grown in a short time, I remember when we had great expanses of hours when only a dozen or less members signed in at one time. Wow, lol, that made me feel/seem disproportionately old, I sound like a grandparent. haahaa
-
CC whatever you do some people are not going to be happy. A perfect system do not exist. IMHO 4Grabs is a fair aproach
-
Just to clarify, I didn't mean to sound unhappy. I respect the time, energy, and creativity that CC puts into his work. And whatever method he (or anyone else) uses to sell valuable stuff is fine by me. I just thought I'd promote the lottery idea. But if it didn't work out too well in the past... well, it's certainly one thing to propose a method and another to actually try it out. Anyway, maybe one day I'll end up with one, if nothing else because I suspect my child would love it!
-
When he uses the "lottery method", does he just pick a post number at random or is it more involved then that?
-
If I had a limited supply of things I wanted to sell, and a HUGE demand that crushed the server when I did a first-come-first-served sale, I think I'd switch to a POST ONE TIME thread, where everyone interested got ONE post to list what he wants. Then I'd randomly select posts (using a true random number generator like lavarand ;-) and fill orders in that random order. But, that's just me; what do I know? ;-P

Well if he was gonna do that, he might as well just charge $100 a key and people would pay it no questions asked.
