Title: Just some help with CM Quickfire Rapid

So I have this keyboard.
I'm pretty new to mech. keyboards so...Are these keycaps laser or painted?
Are they ABS or PBT?

Also, is there anyway to sand off the print on the keys or no? (Something that wont take long.)

Is there a way to take off the logos too?

Thanks!

They are ABS pad printed keycaps. You're probably better just replacing the stock keys with a set of doubleshots, KBC PBT, or WASD keycaps.

Here's a thread on covering the board with vinyl if you want to mod your board that way.  (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?28250-CM-Storm-Wrapped-in-CF-Vinyl&highlight=vinyl)

Oh, and welcome to Geekhack! :welcome:

They are lasered and then filled. They are ABS and I would not try any sanding. I also love the stock keys, but PBT might be the answer. EDIT: I am sure they are lasered.

Somebody take a pic of the S, D, F keys like the others in the Key Reference Wiki and I'll add it.

How is this?

Look like the same molds as for the Filcos.

I had the same conclusion after a close-up comparison.

ripster: RE the wiki, the key caps are completely interchangeable between the Filco and Quickfire. I have the Filco keycaps on my Quickfire.

OP: Your objective for sanding the key caps is unclear. Do you want blank key caps with no lettering or smooth key caps with lettering? If the former, you can buy blank key caps from WASDkeyboards that will fit your keyboard. If the latter, Filco key caps are smoother than the Quickfire key caps. You can easily purchase Filco key caps in the classifieds subforum by putting up a WTB thread.
