Nice deal! If only it were TKL. Seems like alot more people are getting problems with their usb connectors :behindsofa:
-
I had to RMA my first board after about 6 months. The USB port on the keyboard became loose and eventually intermittent.
NewEgg was obviously amazing about the whole process, but still...
This is an awesome keyboard otherwise.

I want this deal on browns... *sigh* ;)

Me too, I've yet to try browns, but I like reds too.

I used to think the Rosewill logo was ugly .. until I saw the CM Storm .. then it made the Rosewill look stylish.
lol...sad but true, in for one. thanks OP

seriously?? the CMstorm is pretttty understated, it has two big logos, and the spacebar.. that's it. if you get a different space bar, it's down to 2 logos, and they're honestly good looking logos..
the Roswill on the otherhand is some ****ty looking script that reaks of cheap branding.

I know I'm not alone in saying this... making a CMstorm look good would require one to procure all-new keycaps (the 'gamer' font they use is gross) and to paint the shell. At that point, you might as well have bought better looking, plainer keyboard, like a TKL white Leopold, unless you absolutely cannot deal with cherry stabilizers.
-
True... but the grey case is pretty decent looking. The best thing about the cm quickfire mx blue was the price point @ $65 shipped, not to mention costar stabilizers, which many people prefer over cherry stabilizers.

Any1 know the shipping price?

free

Wah? $80 shipped after the promo code (which is ON the product page, just like the price and the free shipping)
-
I replaced the keycaps mainly because I didn't like all the chinese on mine. I don't mind the logos on mine. Sure, it's not as good as a filco, and I prefer my WASD, but the "finish" on my CMstorm is better, and the branding isn't that bad.
That said, this is a great deal for the Rosewill. I hope peolpe will try out reds!
-
I've had one of these RK-9000REs for six or eight months and love it. I liked it so much I dolled it up with some caps from WASDKeyboards. Very tempting to get another one at this price, but Christ I can't buy every good deal that comes by.

Reds reduced my typing speed dramatically, I gave it a good month, but couldn't return to my normal speed. i was stuck at 95-110 with the mx red. Now I'm on mx blue @ full speed.
I can definately see how red would be considered the best gaming switch, cuz it's so soft and easy to "double-tap" although, I have no idea what game require such stringent double tapping.
-
I'm the opposite it seems... I always seem to type slower on blues and make more mistakes. Reds I picked up quick and make far fewer mistakes.
-
Im mad I can't buy this, I wanna buy o-rings now though.

Can you RMA without the original packaging? I wasn't sure how lenient they were- my Rosewill doesn't never acknowledge that my cable is plugged in now- I was in love with my Red board and now it's not even usable. Do I just need to crack it open and resolder the USB connection or something? I'm guessing they won't accept a board with a warranty sticker that's been pierced.

I had the original box, so I used it for the return. They didn't say anything about it specifically. They have very good customer service. If you call or use their live-chat I'm sure someone will be able to answer that question for you.
-
What happened with the USB connection? Did the connector get dislodged board-side or something? Mine just stopped working suddenly. I never mis-treated it, though I will admit I plugged and unplugged it pretty often. Only had it working for for two months.

I did not disassemble the keyboard because the RMA process was so easy. My guess is that a solder on the controller was loose. The USB connection on the keyboard would be intermittent and sometimes refuse to work at all. The port on the keyboard felt a bit loose - there was play between it and the housing.
The replacement is fine - connector works and is not lose at all.
-
Well, crud. I'm guessing if I've punched the warranty sticker my best bet is to try and unsolder and resolder the connection.

The usb problems everyone are having kind of makes me worry. Overall I feel like it is a very solid board, and a step up in quality from my Leopold. I am really liking the cherry reds and costar stabilizers.
