That's a really good deal, damn it's tempting. If only it was red switches, if only.
-
Awesome. I already have the one in reds, and I want a keyboard with blues.
--
I got a flash drive from them a while ago, so I already had an account and everything.
-
I wish there was a similar deal for the reds, I really want to try them out.
-
If you want a cheap red board, there's always this promo deal:

I can attest to the quality of this board (CMStorm) for the price. Highly recommended.

Nice, thanks

I would, but I've got the tenkeyless bug I'm afraid. Using the Unicomp feels ridiculous now.
-
Hm.. red or blues
-
Darn it's out of stock :(
-
Still shows in stock for me. Only thing holding me back from buying is the fact that its a tkl...need a numpad for work. :(
-
why don't you buy a separate numpad?
-
Don't tempt me, its payday today too. :(

I just use my 6*12 access-is matrix 'board. Hopefully I'll be able to get windows onto a computer that also has a PS/2 port, so I can program it.
-
I don't know why I keep on going to this forum. I keep on burning holes in my wallet ;;
-
Its out of stock now. I already bought and sold one of these but I have been tempted to get another.

I have been surprised to feel a noticeable difference between the stormfire and Filco. Both cherry blues. The SF feels sluggish, like the switches are out of spec or something. Every Filco I have tried has been flawless. I did notice a lot of spooge on the CM's spacebar stabilizers. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Note to self: must focus more keyboard science on this anomaly.
And yeah, get a numpad, and be a happy typist. These have cherry browns:

Sluggish? I can't really compare. I have had two QF's. Red and blue. But both my filcos are browns. Other than that they feel great though. Obviously can't really compare switch feel.
-
I have a WASD and a CM Storm with reds and they are effectively the same. Not sure if that is a helpful comparison, since they are both Costar.

Mine Came in today. Blues are kind-of awesome.
Dammit, I have too many keyborads now.
-
Mine should come in tomorrow. The caps for it came in today.
-
What caps did you get? If you don't like the stock ones, can I have yours? I like that font! :-)
-
I'll probably take most-or-all of the caps off in lieu of WYSE, but I'm still deciding.
-
Bah, in stock again, but the coupon code is invalid now. I'm on the fence about getting one of these (even though I dislike all the logos), waiting for WASD Keyboards to release their TKL board, or waiting until Amazon stocks Filco TKL boards.
Has anyone replaced the stock windowed key caps with non-windowed caps and, if so, do the LEDs under the caps shine through? Just curious.

I got a new set of black DS's. Sure you can buy the stock caps ;)

I've done this and no they don't shine through if they are black. If they are a lighter color, around half of the keycap will glow. Part of the problem is that manufacturers like to use LEDs with a very narrow viewing angle because they appear brighter when they are pointing at you. Narrow angle firing up at a black key scatters very little light, so you don't get much reflection back down on the PCB/plate. Blue LEDs are especially bad, since the lenses are most often narrow angle and the human eye doesn't pick up on blue light very well. I shot some white paint into the back of the PBT caps on my Poker. This made the indicators a bit easier to see.

Yep, here is a blurry pic (sorry about that) with white PBT caps

I can't really see them through my blue SP PBT, but it is visible through my white SP PBT. I am pretty sure it's not visible through thick WYSE (probably because of the blue) or cherry (too thick)
---
Even if you can't see it through the keycap, it is still visible to see if the LED is on, as it reflects from the aluminum plate. The more light is reflected downward from the keycap, the more you can see reflected off the plate. I've never had an issue with it for this reason.

LOL. I think I'd be shot by the GH Good Taste Gatekeeper if I PAID for those... ;-P. but what would you want for them?
-
I'll probably put them up for 20 shipped. I sold the ones with Chinese legends for 30 shipped. :D
