Title: [Ebay] HCL Diamond ~ Possibly MX Black ~ $29.00 AUD Delivered
Post by: KyesaRRi on Sat, 24 March 2012, 12:24:13
Trying to get the seller to post a picture of the underside of a keycap. Even if they are not doubleshot its a steal at that price.

Think they are blacks but the title is a bit misleading.

Seller says it has NO key roll over, so it's not working? LOL... Not familiar with it, and not finding much useful info other than its another India keyboard like TVS. Not a bad price, if it is blues I might pick one up.

There were made for offices so I'm saying blacks. I think the seller is referring to a blue ps2 plug

I think seller is just confused on what n key means... probably works fine, I was just joking. TVS comes in blues (only?), and these probably made in same factory, so could have blues. You never know. Maybe they will get the switch in if they bother to take a keycap pic like you asked.

So I received mine today, I'm not a real keyboard expert but the keys are really stiff, there's no audible clack and although the keyboard is a HCL Diamond it isn't the same as the one in the picture (although this is less important as he probably just took a picture of one of them seeing as he has 25).

The sticker on the bottom of the keyboard has this information,

HCL Diamond
HCK 440 (AT / PS/2)
Power : 5v DC: 75mA
SSNO:5759

As I say I'm not the most educated keyboard enthusiast so I may be incorrect or missing something but compared to my Majestouch and even a rubber domed keyboard this HCL isn't fun to use. Hopefully someone else who purchased one can offer a bit more insight.

Thanks.

Could you try removing one of the keycaps and taking a photo of the stem on the keyboard? Maybe even one of the keycaps top side and underneath too.

Maybe its a black like i thought. Interested!

I haven't got a key puller so I'll try and grab one off Amazon or somewhere and go from there. Is it possible that it just needs a lot of breaking in and that's why its so stiff?

Could be the keyswitch. If it's cherry blacks, it'll feel pretty stiff.

If you need to make a keypuller, you can do pretty well by bending some paperclips, or using a butter knife and being very careful. If you don't need it for long, you can get a nice wire keypuller from somewhere, and sell it to me when you're done. I've been needing one for a while.

Also, while you're at it, check the underside of the keycaps to see if they are doubleshot.

Stay away from this seller, the boards are so low quality they should be binned.  See my pics in another TVS thread.
