And where the hell would I find one? I never see them in the classifieds nor Ebay(only replicas.) I know they are horded, but since introduced to geekhack, I have been lusting after one.

How many were made in the original run, and did Cherry ever make more after that? Also, how close to the color are the replicas?

WNV board that they came on were made at least 20,000 as far as I know as that is Cherry MOQ for custom board according to Cherry reps I have talked with. Not sure why they are such a pita to find now, wasn't too hard to get one for around $180 last year which I missed out on. I wouldn't pay a lot for the esc alone ($45?), but would pay a good price for the complete WNV board as it is quite nice and has good features.

Are the esc from cherry wnv editions these? If so, you can get them off certain taobao sellers.
