Thanks for filling my 0/00 request. I forgot about the small + on my numpad. I don't suppose there could be a way to fix that too....I don't think I can make a 10keypad add on to fit EVERY 10keypad out there, there is just so many variations sadly

EDIT: I notice that all the numpad keys are the same profile (A S D F G row). Could we order BLANK tan/green 1x keys to fill in the gaps of any and all layouts? It's not as ideal as the perfect doubleshots set, but better than a few black keys scattered in the mix, like missing teeth on a hockey player.

one should be able to write a quick garbage collector script that treats the spreadsheet as a log by rows; the script would get rid of previous rows with a duplicate entry in some id field (say, geekhack username)

Hard to say, after next week i finalize everything, takes a week to take payment from everyone, put order through to SP, if no problem occurs it should be 4-5 weeks lead time but usually there's an error or some sort, then they ship it to me, then I have to sort and then ship out, so I would say 2-3 months from now, but there's a lot of uncertainty that I cannot control.

well, clearly the green goes with the cream for starters. And this set looks nice in a black case (see pics of the KBDmania set in the OP for reference). And I can only imagine how nice it would look in a green anodized aluminum case..
Green is my favorite color btw. If I didn't like green, I would probably save my $ for another keyset that better fit my preferences. Hope this helps!

I certainly don't mind paying the extra $6 to have more room in the box, even if I hadn't ordered the 10keypads and spacebars. When you pack things too tightly, the post office has a tendency to break things.You have a good mind set, I hope most people will think this way too

8 users total that are buying and located in Australia, I don't want to release names though in case those users do not want to be known, so when I have time later tonight or tomorrow I'll send each of them a PM and if they want they will PM you to work out combine shipping.
IMHO is going to be less expensive to send the keycaps directly to each Aussie guy.This may do not apply if several guys live in the same city.
Thanks Tsangan. It really will depends on how many people get in on it and how many orders there are total. If we can fill 1 medium sized box, it will be very worth it.
(Assuming the keycaps don't weigh over 500gs)
Just to give you some numbers, say we have 8 people (and 4 of those people bought 2 sets each), roughly filling 1 medium sized box with 12 sets. So that will be $49 postage to me, which equals $4.08 postage per set.
Auspos is $6.60 for regular parcel post for basically any sized box to basically anywhere in Australia (I tried postcodes to most major cities in most states). The smallest box costs $1.55, the largest we will need will cost at most $2.35 (probably fit like 5 sets).
So the total cost for the people that ordered 1 set would be: $12.24.
The total cost for the people that ordered 2 sets would be: $16.52.
This is just one example, and of course it'll change depending on if we get people in or not. If we don't fill a medium rate box and say have 10 sets combined, it only goes up by 82c per set ordered.
We also don't have to worry about it not fitting into the small flat rate box if anyone wanted to get addon kits, since the slightly bigger box costs us about 20-50c extra.

There's always people who always have to back out for various reasons, usually it's not bad in the sense that it usually doesn't mess with tier pricing.
If so why not simply post it on here that they are out of the Group Buy? Is it really that hard to type it up, here? Just don't simply disappear thinking that you are not noticed or everyone will forget your group buy.
It's just common courtesy, to let everyone else know what your intentions are, in or out, simple.
Keeping quiet simply makes Tsangan wait longer, and I know he's a saint when it comes to giving breaks to people. He's just too nice.

I have no patience for people who cancel after the close and final quote. If you need to get out, do it before things are finalized. There is no problem with cancelling before the end, but once the GB manager sends the order prices are locked and invoices sent out.

I like the idea of nonrefundable deposits. Maybe 10-20% of cost, or base price up-front to make sure people are somewhat committing. If situations arise, $5-10 is what they'll have to consider before backing out. And if they do, we have the $5-10 to cover any additional losses or sell the unclaimed keys at a discount after GB.make it 10 or 15$ for a sure kill that they will not chicken out.

i remember listening to a podcast started by kickstarter money and they mentioned that they had to pay taxes on the money they received.
im not sure after what amount, but they did mention it.
i know paypal after receiving 20k a year, they report it to the IRS.
I understand that the IRS considers it income. It isn't income in any meaningful sense of the word though. The money isn't mine, and I don't own the keys that I distribute.

Best to talk to a CPA but I'd suspect you could file the payments as business income and the cost of buying/distributing keys as a business expense. That should wipe out the vast majority of the income and only leave a small portion behind. Then, if you're making any donations to GeekHack you could see if iMav has it registered as a charity and take that deduction as well. :)agreed.
Either way, kind of a ****ty thing for you GB organizers to have to deal with... :(

Several people have asked to help cover some of the sets that have been cancelled, but I haven't seen tsangan actually address it after he mentioned the cancellations. I have sent him a private message, and haven't seen a reply, but just send him a message to see if he has anything he wants to sell to the late arrivals.Sorry for the lack of reply in regards to this issue, but once order is closed I am not taking new orders regardless of people cancelling, it would lead to more problems on my end. I have NOT cancelled off the people that did not pay yet, their orders is still there and I paid for it personally if they don't claim it when the time comes extras will go on sale.

No reason for there to be an update. Tsangan submitted the order to Signature Plastics, we're just waiting on the keys to be produced, sent to him, organized, and sent out. :)

The tab key clearly doesn't look normal.
After looking at the photos some more, the strangeness is just from the angles..

Sadly there was an understanding issue with the centre stem stepped capslock. When I was asking for the centre stem stepped caps lock I was referring to centre stem in regards to the entire keycap, but SP understands it as centre stem for the touch surface which is what we refer to it as off-centre stem.
I have spoken with Melissa all morning via email and it is impossible for them to produce a centre stem stepped caps in the way we want them :(
With that being said I did get some progress with the "Lock" legend on stepped caps lock, they are willing to reproduce those with no ETA at this point in time.
I know some people will be disappointed with this news but sadly nothing can be done in regards to this, I've done all I can but it's out of my control.

It's best to just accept that you will get things when you get them with group buys. There's a lot of factors involved, and it's usually just one person trying to sort out and ship a buttload of orders. So patience needs to be had.
Or you can just order from every group buy going on and then not be able to track everything. Stuff shows up in the mail when you aren't expecting it. It's like Christmas over and over again. XD

I decided to join the group buy after looking at his feedback and score. Just a moment of doubt that came out when I posted.
The best way sometimes, to get the most up to date info is just reading through the thread. He is basically just waiting for SP to send in the corrected keycaps. Once he received those, he will be shipping out the sets.
Yeah, the main thing that gets me is the lack of communication with us. I understand he runs a lot of group buys here and in deskthority which makes him a really busy person. Running a groupbuy of this magnitude is really tiresome and etc but communication would be nice once in a while. Just maybe a 5 word thingy or etc.
The reason that the scamming doubt came to my mind is the lack of communication. I read a lot of scamming stories (totally unrelated, about nigerians scamming through email) and just got a bit worried. He opens a group buy, people join, no communication after that. Shows up with some picture, people asks him some photo with the keyboard but no reply and then suddenly he goes to vacation. Of course having other forum members showing the keys received made thing more at ease.

If tsangan was scamming you, he must REALLY love keycaps. Scammers usually take you for your money from the beginning. Not pieces of plastic.

I have to respond to EVERYONE's PM, then check their order then wait for their email and make sure to print off everyone that sends THEN I have to make sure I go to the post office the date the label is scheduled for or else I can't use it. All this times X amount of times people want to do this.
I can only imagine the amount of PMs tsagan is getting titled "DID MY KEYZ SHIP YET!!1112"Nah I know people are antsy I would be too to be very honest.

Just received my keys about 10 min ago. I sorted them first thing, and it looks like I have two r4 "+/=" keys and no r4 zero key. Hi this was my first groupbuy... The capslock and left shift key both seem to be too large for my filco TKL, and as a result there is no tactile feedback when pushing down the keys [they can't fully decompress because the case is against the key]... The spacebar also seems to not fit at all, is there something i'm missing? or is this a defect? Thanks

Slapped it all on the factory-fresh Ducky 1008, and then carted it into the office because my old 122 has a sticking backspace.

Maybe something that could be done on future sets. I got the extra add-ons for the CC&G and there was no "Anti-Caps Lock" set of keys in the CC&G set. I forget what set from a recent GB did include an "Anti-Caps Lock" optional add-on.

I just never knew that Cherry keyboards could look so.......sexy. I'm use to seeing Filco's, Leopold's, Topre's and Duck's they all seem to look the same, but the Cherry, ........simply stands out. 8)
Received my keys today. The box got mangled through USPS (no surprise there), but the keys arrived in perfect condition. They are absolutely beautiful and well worth the money and the wait.

Tsangan told me he shipped mine more than three weeks ago. This would be the Fourth week. The only time something like this happens (prolonged transit) is entirely due to CUSTOMS. Those bastards can hold anything for up to 3 months without giving out details to anyone, due to ongoing investigations. My worry is that they can even slice through the caps looking to check for any residues, even if they find absolutely nothing you still get your items delivered damaged from them, with no compensation whatsoever.
It's the ONLY government organization that is truly above the law when it comes to seizing and destroying anything they deem as a threat.

So you are telling me that US Customs are as bad as Australian Customs? I find that hard to believe that anyone else on this planet, other than North Korea would have a Customs Service as horrible as we do.
I thought that your Country has a Bill of Rights (we certainly don't - because we are still classified as a Convict Settlement), and the idea of stopping exports seems quite ludicrous, because Australia is a "BEST" friend of the United States. In fact we are proud to cower and grovel at the feet of US and British leaders, due to the lame leaders elected into power over here.
I find it hard to consider that your Customs Service would do this. We're dealing with Key-caps not explosives/bullets/knives/drugs........

The Postal System....... they are lax when it comes to delivering. At least the 5 week time line is hopeful. I don't mind waiting for the Post as long as it's not sitting in a Custom's Warehouse.

There is one inside the base 90 keyset that is "crooked" some people dont mind it some people are anal about it which led to the remake of the key (even SP thought it was okay :P).no, one center stemmed non stepped caps lock, one crooked-font non-centered stepped caps lock and one non-crooked non-centered stepped caps.

I have no use for stepped capslock. just curious when I got two of those in my package. anyway, what's the difference between the crooked font and non-crooked font one? I compared both of my stepped caps lock and can't find any difference at all, both look fine to me. maybe I got two of non-crooked ones?

Your package was sent out but was sadly missing at this time I am not sure what to do also if you were to tell me I have to send you an extra set out of my own I cannot do that it is sadly not my fault nor do i feel I have to pay for something on top of everything ive done here.
Ive PMed you before giving you options such as waiting it out to see if the package will get bounced back or you pay me half of the cost of the set and i resend you the set or i refund you have the money as it is also not your fault.
You can always claim the insured amount from USPS.

Pics are gone thanks to a group called R00TW0RM. They pwn'd the site when it was running vBulletin. Deleted all attachments and killed our knowledge base wiki.thanks
This group buy ended months ago. Your best bet now is to camp the classifieds and wait for someone to post a set for sale. They do turn up from time to time. But better be quick, they usually sell within minutes of being posted for sale.thanks
