After reading a couple of the Wiki's I think I'd like to try Alps switches, maybe Simplified Type I. What keyboard would you suggest I look for? I'm thinking about looking for a Filco Zero if that would be a good choice, since I like Filcos.
Thanks for any suggestions.

If you could find a Filco zero that would be a good option. If you don't mind a large enter key, you could try a Solidtek 6600. Here's one on ebay for $39.00 + shipping here (http://www.ebay.com/itm/FAST-SHIPPING-SOLIDTEK-ASK6600-ALPS-MECHANICAL-SWITCH-USB-WINDOWS-7-KEYBOARD-/190619922834?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item2c61d53192)

The Ducky is a good board, wonder if it still comes with that keychain freebie? But I believe green alps are type II and just slightly heaver.

Green alps are similar to blues and bottum out at 50g

I saw that Solidtec on eBay. I'm afraid I can not abide a large enter key.

That sounds good. If I can't find a Filco Zero I'll look for a Ducky 1087XM. I hope it's a TKL.
It looks pretty good from this: http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:23427
Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. From what I've seen of its availability it should not be hard to avoid the Filco Zero. ;-) I guess after I get paid I'll start looking for a Ducky XM Green.
Are there any vintage keyboards that can occasionally be found for a good price? The Wiki lists a lot of keyboards but doesn't indicate your likelihood of finding any of them.
...I still want a Filco Zero though. ;-)

Me too.

ducky's alps felt a lot stiffer than blues.

I didn't have mine very long (for obvious reasons :) but they do tend to break in after a week or two.
Someone here took a 1008XM and dumped all the switches into his AT101W; really great idea! Although if you're going all the way throw them in a Northgate Ergo. That would be shizzle de lizzle.
I'm new here and I see you picking up new stuff and letting it go so quickly. :]
Not bashing, just stating what I noticed - sorry for OT.

I hear you, I hope I like my KBT Race.
Maybe, I should sell my pre-order and get a Pure, because I always use the right shift to capitalize & the right shift is small as you know. I'd have to either use the left side of the right shift, or start using the left. Not sure what to do, because I am a tad impatient (for no reason, my computer won't even post).
Sorry to derail the thread, and I hope you find what you're looking for (both you and the OP).
