Title: Best Leather Bifold Wallet
Post by: ironman31 on Sat, 31 March 2012, 20:51:03
It's time for a new wallet and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions of a well-made, leather bifold. I don't mind spending close to 100 USD if it'll last me 5 or more years. I'm sure ripster has something pretty nice... right?

Check out Saddleback Leather. I have a front-pocket wallet of there's that is the best I've ever owned. They also have some awesome laptop cases as well.

I have a J Crew leather bi-fold with a clip inside...couldn't be happier with it. It was a Christmas gift.

100 year warranty sounds promising.

For that amount of money I'd rather have a nice hand made wallet via etsy or ebay. The sellers will often do custom stuff as well. Something like this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/280854585790) would fit the bill (SNERK) nicely.

I had their FP wallet in black, got it as a gift. Took a small mental adjustment at first, but it turned out to be the best I've ever used. I thought it would hold only 4 cards and a little cash, but it held plenty more when I needed it to, and it's small (I hate things in my pockets, and that's weird, I know). It had been SOAKED in beer many times. When I lost it, I ran out and grabbed a wallet that looks like it, but doesn't fit the bill unfortunately. It does't have the feel, and doesn't "hold" things as well. It's looking bad after a year and a half, so getting another Saddleback :)

You might try those plastic-film wallets-- they're dirt cheap (like 10 USD) and indestructible.  I bought one as a lark a while ago because it was done in a design of a favourite banknote, but the print quality was disappointing.

Saddleback: It'll be kinda stiff and inflexible at first, can be a bit of a pain, but it slowly 'eases up'.

Captain is ALWAYS six degrees from Kevin Bacon.   He is THAT random in his posts.

ItlnStln - thanks for the link but the iPad case is on backlog.  Bookmarked it though - looks HAWT!

Sent from Brother Ripster's iPad

Their products are pretty nice and they're made right here in San Antonio.

The paper one is made of TYVEK so it lasts for a long time.

Great looking wallets, but it's a real bummer so few have a change compartment. Or space for more than 4 credit cards. I agree about buying from Etsy though – if you're already willing to spend $100, you might as well go the extra mile and have something that's custom made.

I've been using a tula wallet for what seems like forever, was looking to replace it a while back with a bridge wallet.  But the tula just lasts and lasts.
