How many of you here being waiting for such a layout?!!?!?!?
Tenkeyless without compromising on productivity.
The sad part is that it uses a strange layout at numpad when numlock off...
Is it rubberdome, Cherry, Topre, ALPS?
But the layout is indeed very nice!
Hmmmm........ yea it's pretty sweet.. I would hold off until late into the product cycle,, being multilayered and all, I envision problems // screwups
Is it firmware updatable??
Also, copy of the dolce???

Both KBs above are Cherry switches(cause it is the only switch that had market in China).
there's also alotta anti-japanese products psychology in China, so that may explain why topre isn't as popular,,, ALTHOUGH japanese pr0n is somehow excluded from the racism.True, but not 100%. Japanese products are still deemed as high qualities. FILCO is still worshiped as top tier keyboard over other competitor.

^^You're Taiwanese?
Not for me, if I had to choose I'd prefer cursor keys over a num pad
Great, now when and where can I buy it? Google translate makes no sense of the forum linked... who is it being made by? Looks like Noppoo. That board is designed and probably going to be made by PLUM(which also made Noppoo and Neo Zelia87 IIRC).
PCB or plate-mounted?

Not for me, if I had to choose I'd prefer cursor keys over a num padI might be wrong but if I am interpreting the image below correctly you can probably toggle the number pad on/off and when the number pad is "off" the four keys with the arrows act as cursor keys

Oh, the arrow keys on the numpad are laid out in the Reversed T shape? I always thought they were the standard layout on numpads...
This layout just instantly went from unusable for me to must buy.

I guess it's dependent on the specific keyboard whether or not the arrows are the standard shape or not.
Since I'm used to using the compact style keyboards where the arrow keys are surrounded by keys anyways, the 1 and 3 don't bother me.
this is the aikb non-ergo board i believe. imsto sells the pcbs on his taobao store.
1. ETA is b4 Q3 of 2012(mean the most 2 more months)
It was released and is available to purchase from China for about $80. Which reminds me, I need to buy one of these now that the white pbt version is out.mind doing a good review when you get it? I always like to own keyboards that match layouts ive comeup with.
I designed a layout very very simular to that first board a while back for wasd. Its interesting how they implemented it.
have Seen this layout long Time agor by Filco on taobao...

But it is a little bit different. I prefer the one that you posted.
It's known as Plum 96 and you can find it easy on taobao.
Here bro:Filco 100M, EOLed product + not sure if having non-Japanese layout.

Other switch types was in the original plan for these, but I don't know if it is still to happen or not. Either way if you want something else and only blacks available, it is very easy to change it on pcb mount. All you need is some other stems/springs to change it to what you wish.Searching it from taobao and I can find numerous version of it, of which different switches and case/keycaps color.
It's a huge pro to pcb mount over plate. No soldering needed, and I don't have to concern about the switch because I can change it very easy any time.
yea i have just the layout i made. Wasd was just fishing around for potential nonstandard layouts and i made a few. There was some interest here but the majority of his market wanted backlight abd tkl.I designed a layout very very simular to that first board a while back for wasd. Its interesting how they implemented it.
Wait... what?
Got any links to where i can view or research this implementation?
Or is this a "yet to be released / as yet unreleased / might not be released" model?

Well here is the layout that i cam up with if anyone is interestedShow Image(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v519/TheProfosist/GeekHack/GH-sub-mine/WASDALTTKLDefaultLayer1TEMP3.png)Show Image(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v519/TheProfosist/GeekHack/GH-sub-mine/WASDALTTKLFnLayer1TEMP3.png)
all the mode key does is switch between the 10key and the home cluster+arrows/media keys, nothing else. in each of the 2 modes the keyboard would function just as a normal keyboard would if it was in that layout.
If your interested in this you should check out the new cm storm board made by costar.Carter said it's not made by Costar, nor is it made by iOne.
thought he said it was in the thraed about the boad... Maybe i misread. If your interested in this you should check out the new cm storm board made by costar.Carter said it's not made by Costar, nor is it made by iOne.

Board is not made by iOne, but not Costar.... Build quality is awesome though.
Poker has ~30 fewer keys, Noppoo is a brand... if you mean the Choc Mini, that has ~18 fewer keys.
so should we still make one?
This board is to compete with 87key TKLs by being only slightly larger (1 key width) and having all the usability of a 104key board (arrow keys and numpad).
All mechanical keyboards have the same size key caps for 1x width keys, some of the larger caps are different widths depending on layout.
No numpad on the Poker, just F-keys and Nav-keys. The Choc mini has the Fn-Numpad.
could we just make a simple case? that just sandwiches the pcb and plate?so should we still make one?
Sure, I think we just need a good source of donor cases. If we want to do it cheaply, that is.
These MK-96 (http://www.welovemacs.com/mk96.html) might do, but I'm not a fan of the bunched up F-keys.

Oh? Do tell. Because that .75" == 1x cap size limitation is enforced by the Cherry switches underneath. Not sure, It was the Windows key at least that's what they looked like. I don't have my BW anymore.
Has anyone had any luck getting these yet? Last few times i tried getting a white one with red switches the vendors were out.
Jesus, and it costs US$ 60 on China! I'm soo getting one!

In short, it is a nice board.
1. Wireless
2. Nice/Perfect layout and footprint
3. PBT/POM keycaps
4. Solid + heavy built despite being a PCB mounted board
5. Backlit ready by just adding your own LED
6. NKRO
7. Detachable wire
8. Multimedia shortcut keys and bla bla bla, literally everything you every asked for
The only cons is that...
It uses an odd spacebar standard, similar to Neo Zelia 87, and probably Keycool/Leopold FC500R also...Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/iAD74.jpg)
P/S: Those Blank keycaps are KBC POM which I purchased seperately.
Yup, it come with holes and circuit for LED, just mount it yourself and you are good to go. Shortcut keys mean those Volume control, play/pause, Computer and so on.Has anyone had any luck getting these yet? Led ready?!?!?! What da... this is so unreal. Shortcuts????!!!
It is a normal 3mm led. Just search "3mm led" on ebay. The wattage or voltage of the LED also play an important role here.
What you mean? You mean does the board PCB mounted causing any problems or inferiors? Most(if not all) Cherry made boards are PCB mounted.
Also, as I mentioned, the board itself is solid and heavy.
The problem is that most China boards are not sold internationally. The most it gone to Taiwan. What you mean? You mean does the board PCB mounted causing any problems or inferiors? Most(if not all) Cherry made boards are PCB mounted.

Damn, and here I thought that after gettting my Das Keyboard I wouldn't need to buy any other keyboard in my life.
Well gentlemen, I guess this PLUM 96 will sell quite well here on geekhack, hehehehe.... I'm surely getting mine.
is plum96 available in mx brown anywhere yet?

What was the total cost?
Loving my Panda Clears modded PLUM96 myself (work mate modded his PLUM96 to ghetto Light Grays). It was interesting open up the board and see PCB was LED ready for every switch. It is a totally decent board all around if you don't mind the Leopold 500 spacebar stabilizer spacing and cherry stabilizers. The battery life isn't all the great in wireless mode, which is probably why it comes with a on/off toggle switch for it.Wondering what are your complaint on the battery life?
Just glad to see some interest peeking for this layout around the globe.
Wondering what are your complaint on the battery life?
What I read in China forums are that the battery life is actually pretty good.
At least for mine, it is still clearly functioning after a week of usage(on average around 4hours per day). Also, I am not expecting it(the battery) to die out that fast, as it actually using 3x AAA Energizer MAX batteries(which cost around 0.7USD each here and can normally last me a very long time for other uses) + it is awkward to keep on removing the case for changing battery.
Blue TK's will be available to people very soon. Followed by Red and lastly brown

As I should probably point out, I have only had 2 attempts at monitoring battery life. Both attempts provided about 10 days of battery life when wireless mode was left toggled on (the switch left on the wireless on position) while attached wirelessly to our media box which does not shut down. These tests were not scientific or anything of that nature, but the actual time spent typing is very little.
If these were rechargeable I would not complain in the least at this amount of battery life, but the pain of opening it up and replacing the batteries has kept me very astute to toggle the wireless off when I am not doing any typing. So the problem basically solves itself by just remembering to toggle the device off, but it would be nice if the device would put itself in standby after 10 minutes of non-use or something.
It do had a "standby mode", which turn indicator LEDs off when keyboard is not in used for a durations on wireless mode. You can also manually doing so by Fn+F7.
Also, may be you should try with a better battery and see if the results turns out better.
