Title explains it all. I love black switches. I can't take browns because the tactile bump feels weird and reds are fine but sometimes I feel like they are too light. What do you guys recommend me getting? I used a poker before and felt like it was just the right size but sometimes try to reach the function and home keys were annoying. I'm really interested in the all white realforce 87u at EK but I wanted some more opinion before I pull the trigger.

55gram if you love blacks.

Is there a such thing as HHKB with 55g?

HHKB never weigh at 45g, they are rated at 45 but most of them are 50-55g.

If you like Black switches, why not get another board that has them? Lot less expensive than a Realforce
Seriously though, I would think if you're used to such light key presses already you would probably want a 45g Realforce. I've never used an HHKB myself but my concern is that the unusual layout might be a stumbling block as far as functionality is concerned.

The layout isn't an issue but it's so tempting. But it feels like, I am paying more for less.

If you dislike tactile 45g, 55g at least won't be your option.
I feel 30g is very less tactile. But no linear Topre switch exists as you know.

ahhh, but less is more~!
I currently am using a 55g Realforce at home and I really love it - but I absolutely hated blacks. So even though the weight is similar the switch type has a lot to do with it, topre bounces back up with you whereas blacks I felt like it was a constant fight with the keyboard.
I am this close to selling up my realforce and other stuff and going all out on a type S, but money is too tight atm. I feel like 45g+ on the hhkb must be the perfect fit for me as I love the small form factor of my poker, and like topre the best.

I will be buying a HHKB. If I dislike it, it won't be hard to sell it for ALMOST of what I paid.

Great minds think alike. I went with the white/grey HHKB. BTW where in NYC do you live? I used to live in the Brooklyn area.

I got my HHKB otaku with the white and grey in Jan of this year and I love the feeling and sound of it. I have a brown, blue, and red switch, yet i
use my topre more than of them (though i do swap out every so often to change it up.) It's great for typing and its great for gaming, and i notice
that my wrists hurt less after long gaming sessions than with any other keyboard. But it might just be me... tell us what you think when you get it! ^_^

i like topre switches on RF keyboards more than my hhkb

I just got my hhkb in today and I love it! And after typing on it for half the day I don't think I can go back to brown switches. >.< Damn this! Now I'm tempted to purchase a realforce.

I am tempted to buy a RF before I even receive my HHKB. :(

Does anyone know how long it takes EK to ship to the east coast?

If you don't like the HHKB initially, please it give a little time (a week or so) before selling it. Don't be a fossala ;)
