Hello :-)
I am selling a UK layout Model M, type "1395985", absolutely excellent condition (I stripped two of these down, deep cleaned and rebuilt them last week - NO MODS undertaken, though). You may take your pick between:
1/ A Lexmark Model M, 1395985, dated 1994
2/ An IBM Model M, 1395985, dated 1991
Theses boards come complete with SDL to PS/2 cable, in amazing condition, seeing as they have been meticulously deep-cleaned and re-assembled and tested; a thorough valet was given to both! Please note, I am only selling ONE of these boards, but the buyer may choose which he would like. They both have the internal speaker present, and were manufactured in the UK.
PRICE: £60
Shipping is £10., and I can only ship to UK buyers. Please, let me know what you wish to pay, and we can talk. PayPal accepted, next day dispatch.
Thanks!

Does it include the keycaps and how much?
-
So does this mean you're selling yourself? haha. Selling because you have one too many Model M?
-
Oh sorry, forgot to ask, as well, mechanical as well? (I'm new so I don't know whether keyboards are mechanical or not and I'm looking to acquire one as well). If so, what type of switches do they use? And as I mentioned before, how much?

Yes. The keycaps (UK) come on the board, absolutely mint condition. Yes, these are mechanical keyboards, using the patented "Buckling Spring" mechanism:

Price? Make me an offer, I won't play mind games, and I am not fuelled by greed. I also reply quickly, and won't offend you :-)
Thank you :-)

It's PS/2 connector, but works with most PS/2 to USB adapters that can be eBayed for around £1.
-
Yeah I've got a Belkin PS/2 to USB connector, so I'm alright on that front. But I honestly can't afford a £60 keyboard! And also there is the Cherry G80-3000 with MX Blues selling for 60 on amazon which I can't afford as well! Hahaha... I think I'm actually the wrong person but I want a mechanical keyboard sooo baddd.... I blame my friend for poisoning me... D:

Make me an offer... I won't bite!
PS: My genuine opinion, I don't see the fuss about the G80-3000. I have one here, and they're like a toy. I'm not simply saying that to get a sale, I really don't see what all the fuss is about. IBM Model M is the "Rolls Royce" of mech KBs.

SSsssssttt.... £20? ._.

Sorry, I can't hear you... :tongue1:

It's +£10 including postage as well! D:

Sorry, that's too low. The price you are quoting is below what I would accept, you're expecting me to throw shipping in as if is a negligible cost, which it is not, and shipping a HEAVY HEAVY board is expensive. This needs to be sold by 3am today, ideally, so keep trying.
Keep the shipping cost out of the offers, to make it simple. The shipping will be £10, regardless of your offer.
I am confident you'll get it :-)

Hahaha.. well, considering that for 60 I can get a brand new keyboard which includes shipping as well, I won't be going near there..
Right.. it is 2nd hand and old, however still a good keyboard non the less! However, its quite old! I guess I can deal with £10 for postage, but.. mmmmmmm...... 40 all in...?

Walk into an antique dealer, and tell them you want their goods cheaper "because they're quite old"... haha!!
This is a vintage keyboard, and also one of the lesser found variants with the speaker inside. These fetch £75+ on eBay ANY DAY of the week. Maybe you can buy a G80-3000 for £60, but so what? Try finding a stripped down, reconditioned & tested Model M, with speaker, for less than £70 *anywhere* online; I didn't get very far I can tell you!
Don't mistake age for lesser quality... in fact, I'd stake £100 on the fact that this board will still be going strong in another 20 years, when those flimsy G80-3000s have long since died.
Come on... keep trying... just a little more... I *want* a n00b to have it and use it, not some "collector" who will have it in a pile somewhere.
PS: It's not crusty OR dusty... it's mint!
PPS: I'm not asking for £75... or £65... or even £60!
-
The poor are destined for rubber dome keyboards! I'm sorry but I really can't! £60 is wayyy too much for me. D: Well yeah I know, old doesn't necessarily mean cheaper but still, a student is a student for a reason! hahaha..
I don't know if I can actually reach..
BTW, is the video the actual thing or is it the same thing but someone else's?

The video is someone else's, but I could make one... if you are serious. Make me a final offer, cash...
-
Wait what happened to my post.. ._. it disappeared..
I stay in Coventry, will that reduce the price of anything? Let me think... mmmmmm........ 45?
Btw, is the keyboard in the video yours or just a similar one but someone else's?

£45 + £10? I'll accept that.

How am I supposed to hand you cash? =/ But the pictures are of the keyboard you're selling?
I'm thinking...

I see what you did there. Hahahaha...
So everything is in working condition? No sticky keys, no quirks or anything? All fully functioning keys? Just that it was built way back like when I was born?

Yes. No sticky keys, no screws falling out, no chunks of plastic gouged out by it having falled 20ft onto a hard floor, no apple juice spilt inside it, no wear WHATSOEVER on the keys (seriously, this plastic is incredible - NO WEAR? HOW??). All complete, all working 100%. I don't sell junk - I wouldn't be comfortable in doing so. All keys work, ALL caps complete, none missing. This board is a DREAM! :D
Having said that, you could always go and buy a new, inferior copy... the Unicomp Model M, *without* detachable cable, IBM provenance & decidedly cheapo internal circuitry... for £95!! :-/

I'm thinking... I'm thinking... Hmmmm.....
How do you reckon the keyboard's response time is with games? Well, I game some.. lol.. I think after you use the adapter it's effectively USB?
-

I have no idea. I am not a gamer... I am a keyboard seller (right now) :P
As far as I was aware, all current PC motherboards have PS/2, so there's no problem.
-
I'm using a laptop with no PS/2 connectors. But I bought a PS/2 to USB connector, well, hahahaha.. I already have it!
Mmmmm.... 40+10?

You're going to pass it up... for a fiver? :P

Ahhhhh spare me that fiver! hahaha

It's a seller's market, and I am doing you an amazing price, seeing as you're so enthused, and new to keyboards. Ask anyone, these go for crazy money on eBay... look...

I'd like to wrap this up soon :-)

I would say so. My Model M works with a generic PS/2 to USB adapter. Here, check this list:

PS: I have no idea what's happening with your posts, but my final offer is £45 + £10.

Okay, let's do this! How do we start? :)
BTW how long do you reckon it will take to get to Coventry?
-
SOLD!
somethin295... a great guy to deal with. May your Model M keep you amused... and ergonomically rested.
Great guy to deal with!
