Use code RWPAXEAST2 to get 20% off any RK-9000 keyboard at Newegg. Just got myself my first blue board :D
-
FYI - that makes it $90+ship for browns and $80 free shipping for the other 3 switches.
-
How long?
-
Yo Dante, McRip Effect that is all.
-
Although I do remember hearing that there were some issues on the very first release. They worked it out and that's something like a year ago now.
-
looks good. sent this to my friend who's missing a 'V' key on his rubber dome (makes playing sc2 with him difficult, to say the least ;)
-

It's not the McRip effect if it's an actual defect that causes the product to cease fuctioning.
-
Wait was is wrong with it besides a squeaky space bar?
-
There are problems with the connector failing, just look through the reviews.
-
I read that you could just tape the cable to the chassis and you should be good. At any rate I'll post again if I have issues with this board. First blues board, so I didn't want to spend too much.
-
Be nice with your keyboard and youll be fine.
-
Yeah I saw the things about the connector failing I am never going to even move the thing though so it shouldn't be that much of a problem and it has a warranty.
-
Its because it not recessed and the plug sticks straight out my guess is that people were putting tension on it or bumping the plug while its plugged in with something. One easy way around this is a right or left angle cable which they do have available on newegg.
what do you mean by only soldered into place? that should be more than enough unless your doing stupid stuff with your keyboard... I had one keyboard with one bad switch but it was because i tried pulling the cap and it was extra tight and took the stem with it which i promptly fixed. Truthfully i think its alot of people not knowing what their doing as ive had 5 of these boards with only that one problem.
-
Well I decided to buy one, I don't have much to lose since Newegg's RMA policy is good, anything is going to be way better than the crappy rubber dome I am using right now.

For the record, I had the USB connectivity problem, it turned out that when a friend who had been borrowing it yanked the cord out while pulling up. In doing so, he had pulled the part of the controller that is connected to the PCB by pins up ever so slightly. After my roommate and I opened the case up and pushed the controller back down on the pins, the board is worked perfectly.
-
So just be careful and nothing bad happens.
-
Apparently they can't be shipped to Illinois... lol
-
LOL, n00bs, Just solder the cable straight into the board..
-
My first Cherry MX board was the 9000BR. Nice board. I really like the detachable cable, in fact.
