Mech0z posted about the CMSTORM Quickfire Rapid coming to Europe earlier but after some E-mails i am happy to announce that there also will be a CMSTORM Quickfire Rapid with MX-Reds for us....
After years of waiting we will finally be able to get a solid and fair priced Tenkeyless with MX-Reds!
"I have contact our sales department about the Quick fire Rapid (Red switch) and I heard good news for you these will be available in Germany. They will be available in store in about 2 months."
Some of you may not like the branding but with some blank keycaps this one should be awesome for the ISOusers!
-
Do you know what they'll be priced at?
-
no idea... but i replyed with this question to the last mail
-
They've been saying this for a while, we got a firm release date yet?
Been waiting for these for what seems like an age now.
-
As for the price - in Poland it was announced to be around 90-100€, so I suppose it may be similar in Germany.

In European retail stores or they will start shipping them to Europe through there own cm store?
-
Are you sure there will be a ISO Layout Version? Last thing I've read at overclock.net from a CM employee is that they'll only offer a ANSI Layout version. Doesn't make much sense to me as you could import the ANSI version but companies are weird sometimes :/

I'll believe it when I see it. First CM said primo 2012, then Feb, then March, then April etc etc.

Exactly! It's all bull till we get there.

Just to repost something the JRE implosion filed in the great white porcelain cabinet; Reports from the Nordic market say that the Quickfire comes in 88 key ISO-layout. Here's a youtube link of a Finnish dude "reviewing" it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxdIL0QdPCc
I don't know about southern/middle Europe or the UK.
-
just posted a WTB for one of the reds of those... Now wondering if it is worth to wait another couple of months. By that time I might be able to get a Filco red or maybe the CM Storm with reds.
I personally quite like that slightly less sparse look of those.
Currently waiting for a Noppoo Choc Mini with browns though so that should keep me going, it is only that I will have to carry it back and forth from work.
-
And I thank you again, Irch :D
-
came back to check how long ago i posted the 2 month information and... DAMN it felt like 3 month ;/
any new informations concerning releasedates for ISO quickfire rapids?
-
This is simply ridiculous. Close to half a year to get products to market?
(they're still not in stock anywhere in Norway/Sweden, nor can I get even an estimated date)
-
The quick fire rapid red will not reach EU. Just got of the phone with CM HQ in EU. They are already working on a new keyboard set to release Q3.

Wait, what?
I just ordered mine, and I'm from Italy. :-\

One with ISO Layout and MX reds? Doubt that but would love to get proven wrong : )
-
The product code of the CMSTORM sold in Italy is SGK-4000-GKCC-IT ( ~€70 ). It's a cherry black not red and it has an ISO layout.

From Germany

as far as I know, the reds were somewhat limited (In the US, aren't they only sold by the CM store?) as they have the different plate/case colour scheme. I would, however, expect the other switch types to be available in other ISO layouts.
Just add the county code to the end of the product number:
SGK-4000-GKCL1 (Blue Switch)
SGK-4000-GKCC1 (Black Switch)
SGK-4000-GKCM1 (Brown Switch)
So a QF in black Italy layout should be: SGK-4000-GKCC1-IT, as shown by Matt3o's example.
-
Mine should be SGK-4000-GKCR1 so yes, the red version.
I'm just waiting for confirmation from the seller, but it should be correct. The Quick Fire Pro with reds is definitely available in Italy, as soon as I get a confirmation for the tenkeyless version aswell I'll let you know.
-
They had a bunch of 'em on Amazon US for under $100 but I just looked and they've got just one left and the price is 119.98. I would've gotten one but I'm not too fond of the tenkeyless.

maybe it's the US layout. where did you get it?
-
just ordered one from https://direkt.jacob-computer.de/_artnr_1356116.html?noT=1&status=1&SID=11cb665e3ad00a34c7223462e456f5e2
can anyone tell me is it the black case or the grey one? is it possible to see it at the given product number(SGK-4000-GKCR1-GR)?
-
I really really really hope they actually get the Quickfire Rapid Mx Red ones to the European Market since I want a Tenkeyless Mx Red board so badly.
Only other option is that I could get a Filco Tenkeyless Mx Red board but it would cost around $180-$200 dollars from keyboard.co :/
Im from Sweden btw so I use the ISO layout hence those are my only options.
Anyway regarding the Quickfire Rapid Red....
Alot of swedish online stores have them on their sites, where you can preorder them. I have talked to them and they say that the keyboard will be released late August.
I dont know if I could believe em wholeheartedly but this is from one of the sites:
https://www.inet.se/produkt/6101698/cooler-master-storm-quick-fire-rapid-red-gaming-keyboard
There it is, They dont have it on stock yet but as said they promised me to have em late August.
And dont mind the pictures, I know they are with the ANSI layout but the manufacturer code is: SGK-4000-GKCR1-ND
The ND standing for Nordic so they will be ISO layout. (They have alot of other keyboards pics with ANSI layout, mostly because its easier to find. Kinda lazy but w/e.)
Can and will computer sites put up some wares that they arent even sure will come in stock? Would be pretty ridiculous tbh and you can already preorder them so for me it seems like they will arrive here to Europe.
-
So the GR in "SGK-4000-GKCR1-GR" stand for Germany? There are more and more shops in Germany that have an CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid MX Red in stock. Could it finally be, that the red version comes to the EU?
For example:
http://www.alternate.de/html/product/CM_Storm/Quick_Fire_Rapid_MX_Red/1027344/?
http://www.amazon.de/Tastatur-CoolerMaster-STORM-Quickfire-SGK-4000-GKCR1-GR/dp/B006EB4J10/ref=sr_1_21?s=ce-de&ie=UTF8&qid=1345326220&sr=1-21
Edit: @eXellenty: The red Version comes with the black case. If you get the keyboard, pls tell us if it is the right version. :)

As far as I know, all the QF rapid reds have black cases, and the other switch type have gray cases. I'm still skeptical about the ISO red's though until I see a picture, but I would imagine that ISO reds would have the black case/red plate just like the ANSI reds.
The best option is of course to just learn ANSI :p
-
got my cm from https://direkt.jacob-computer.de/_artnr_1356116.html?noT=1&status=1&SID=11cb665e3ad00a34c7223462e456f5e2
will get awesome doubleshots tomorrow :D
-
Nice, I ordered mine from an other site, but didn't got it yet. ;(
Edit: Got it 5mins ago. :D
-
They did it! ISO QFR red. Post more pictures, and I hope you enjoy!
-
Yes, they did it. But my german version has also a flaw. CTRL is STRG in Germany, but on mine they wrote STRL. oO

This is one of the many reasons to get a CMstorm and put PBT on it. Mine is awesome with PBT.

Pics please!!!! I can actually buy a Ducky PBT engraved set here in Sweden pretty easily (no Qtan store for me since he only got ANSI) and I have just ordered my own CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid Red so wanna see how it looks like, even though you dont have the ducky maybe
EDIT: Ah dang just remembered that Ducky caps are for Cherry stabilzers and not for Costar stabilazers :(

They should work with either. I've used cherry keycaps (for cherry stabilizers) on my WASDkeyboard with costar stabilizers. Unless the spacing is different (like for the spacebar) it should work just fine.
Most recent picture I could find of my 'board:

Awesome... they finally bring cheap ISO's with MX red and I have no ISO keycaps to dress them :S
BTW, do they send to Spain?!
-
Looks great, although I would prefer Browns I think.
Where can one get PBT ISO keycaps?

Finding the ISO enter keys is really hard. I think SP does it. There aren't any GB's for one at the moment, as far as I know.

Okay, but how about just 39 keys?

Get one of those blank PBT keysets with arrowkeys, and use the up arrow as the extra ISO key. Not sure about what to do with the |\ key, though, since there wouldn't be an extra in that profile. I'd say since it doesn't get used that much, It'd be okay to get an off profile one (using another arrowkey).
PBT keycap sets might exist: I don't look for them because I believe ANSI to be superior. :p

Ha, coding on ANSI is a pain when you're used to having that additional key. Have to keep changing keyboard layout in windows every time I want to escape a string.
