Title: Getting the stem back on my Filco MJ2
Post by: Finax on Sun, 15 April 2012, 20:13:58
stem came off my 'u' key on my Filco. I've seen the wiki page for it, but the stem is different (I guess the wiki page addresses the MJ1 stems).

any help? i'm considering just ordering a new Filco; my warranty is already void.

replacing the switch stem on a filco requires desoldering. there are members here who can do this for a fee, you can diy, or you can sell off the broken board. are you sure the stem isn't salvageable?

the stem is fine, but i think you're right, it can only be fixed by desoldering. i've never soldered before and i'm not sure i even have the equipment.

If anyone wants to buy this imperfect Filco with a few busted stems, just PM me, I'll offer it at a decent price.

It's got Brown switches and a black case. UK layout.

I'll post this to Classifieds later with pictures.

You should post in the classified to see if someone will fix it for you for a few bucks.
