For maximum effect they make one that docks an iPad and simulates a moving carriage

It's sort of interesting. I have an old Underwood that I still use, though I need to find a replacement for the bakelite spacebar or how to repair it, since I broke it in half. Not sure I would really want to use it as my primary keyboard. The hard action and huge amount of force and effort to use it is so ridiculous compared to the MX keyboards I use for most of my typing. It is still fun to clack away on an old typewriter now and then.
More silly nostalgia kitsch like rotary cell phones and other retro tech conversions that are amusing but entirely non-practical.

A real cool thing would be to have a typewriter which is still able to print, like in the good old days.

That reminds me of some project I saw awhile ago. It was a typewriter that was internet connected for some instant messaging. The incoming message would get typed out automatically on paper, and then you could type back to respond.

I have 3 rotary phones in my house, and use all of them daily. They are fascinating to me because they were all dirt cheap (under $20) and still working perfectly after 50+ years. They look awesome hanging on the wall and sound fantastic when they ring.

This product is just stupid looking and ridiculously expensive. It's like making a rotary phone into a cell phone and then carrying it around.
