Hey there,
New comer here to the forums, although I've used them as a reference point for a long while now.
I've got an odd issue with my 87 key Filco Majestouch (MX Browns from Amazon). It will work for a little while, usually until I restart the computer, and then it will stop working. No matter what I try-- restarting again, un/re-plugging, full shut down etc.-- it won't work for the time being. However, if I use another keyboard for a while (haven't tested the exact time frame thoroughly) and then go back to it, it magically starts again. And the cycle begins again, it will work great until I restart.
This isn't an issue with the computer or USB port. This has occurred over multiple computers and every other USB device works perfectly fine with the same ports.
This person seems to have experienced the same problem:

I'll send him a PM as well, but if I could possibly arrive at a solution here I feel that it would be good to have for others reference.
Thanks!

Amazon has a great replacement policy if it died within 30 days..

I also tried with a different mini usb cable and still have the same issue.
Is there any way to fix this like opening the keyboard and replace a parts or reseting something in it ?
Must be pcb related.

I see so many people having problems with Filcos. Are they just built poorly or is it because so many people have them that it seems like they cause lots of problems?
-
For every person here with Filco problems there are probable thousands not here with no problems at all.
And lots here with no problems.
Filco are generally reliable, so you don't get to hear when they work well, only when they stop working. And this, being a keyboard enthusiast forum, tends to attract those seeking assistance.

I own nine Filco keyboards and all work just fine.

The only problem I ever had with a Filco was the USB cable. As mentioned, try replacing it.
