Title: Current Consensus on Cherry MX Red availability
Post by: Parad0x86 on Thu, 03 May 2012, 10:28:54
I am looking to buy a new board with Cherry MX Reds and I have done some looking around to find out which one to get. I would like a Filco Majestouch-2 Tenkeyless or CM Storm QuickFire Rapid but it appears that these are currently pretty impossible to find from reputable vendors in the US. I was curious if there is a currently available Cherry MX Red of similar quality as the two mentioned above (tenkeyless black color preferable) for under $200. Quality Reds appear to be very elusive. =)

I've read the rumor that Filco Majestouch-2's will be on Amazon in June but I'd prefer not to wait that long if there is another quality product out there currently available.

How is mechanicalkeyboards.com reputation around here? As for the Leopald I would need to change the caps to have white lettering on black, which would be alright I guess.

new site ( launched one month ago), but I've seen some nice reviews from happy customers on reddit.

mechanicalkeyboards.com is great, decent prices and selection. Ordered a board a little after they opened and got it a few days later. I am actually typing this post on it now!

I've decided that when I get home tonight I will order the CM Storm QuickFire Rapid from mechanicalkeyboards.com and give them a shot. Thanks for the find, hopefully they start showing up on google because I never came across them during my searches.

I will let you know how my experience with them goes.

I'm sure it'll be fine. If you have any problems, they have a vendor's forum here on GH so it should be easy to contact them with any issues. I've haven't heard anything negative about them yet so far though.
