I'm sure I'll get at least one Nancy Kerrigan, "why???"; just not stiff enough to my liking.
That's what she said. GLWS!
-
Is the variable version?. It says...."45g +/-15g"..for me that's a variable version.

reported thread to addiction hotline

Damn... I'd jump on this if it were an 87u... I need that windows key near the arrow keys for Windows 7...
-
Wish I could help you out :/ I've been looking for a 45g uniform RF...
-
I bought a 45g 87U last week. Bad timing. GLWS, old friend, and may your quest for the One True Keyboard finally come to an end.
-
If you buy my keyboard I promise to be extremely grateful and will take my next purchase much more seriously. Please take pity on me for I am a blind man in the valley of choices.
For those of us who can't try before we buy we are destined to meet the same fate at some point, thank goodness we have Geekhack. GLWS

Hell of a price...hope it sells really soon for you. I don't see how it wouldn't with that price.
-
GLWS
help a brother out guys. that's a fantastic price and i'd snap it up in a second if it were 55g
-
YGPM about trade + cash.
PS: I hate you...stop putting good kbs up for sale at such good prices. My wallet likes having money it in QQ.
-
I could MAYBE swing a better price.. this is already the cheapest 45g uniform I've ever seen for sale in GH's classifieds as it is.
Price isn't the issue! GLWS :P
-
I don't think that by reducing the price any further you'll attract more client.
It's just a pretty niche keyboard which nobody currently wants. Because the price is just awesome.
Unless you sell it at less than 50$, then PM me xD.
-
Price is really good, definitely not something you need to lower at all.
Someone will come around, just wait it out man!
-
Good price, GLWS! I intend to be buried with mine :)
-
what's the story here? i read your thread in keyboardco's subforum and i thought you loved it?
-
It's not « The Special One »
-
that's what she... oh darn
-
need more viagra
-
55gram next?
-
After giving considerable thought to my situation once I sell the 86 I am going to buy a Ducky 1087XM Green Alps and put the left over funds in savings.
Unless MechanicalKeyboards restocks the 1087XM Black Alps I'm done with further keyboard purchases until 2013.
Time to stop your head from spinning for a moment, I take it. Sounds like a smart move.
Good luck with the sale of that beauty.

Dante,
Have you tried buckling springs, yet?
-
To tell you the truth, I'm considering this board. If you can convince me that this board is better than a HHKB, I'll take it off your hands.
-
Do you know how this compares to a Filco red, or Filco browns (minus the tactile)? I don't really have time to look up that stuff right now as I'm at work, I think i was looking for something like this but never tried topres...
-
The 45g uniform Topre feels like MX Brown, but much smoother and not so dirty : ) Superior imo
-
My 87U variable has been out for delivery since 5:03 A.M. this morning and i'm still waiting for it :(

If this is true, I'm heavily considering swapping my Filco and some cash for one...
I love browns, don't get me wrong, but if it's a smoother brown with similar actuation force (45g I think is exactly the same, if not 5g off?) I'm interested.
-
Yeah, you have to test it. Browns are also my favorite MX switch. But I prefer typing on a Topre.
-
how are the stock topre keys? I couldn't stand the stock filco ones.
-
Browns and 45g Topre switches feel totally different to me. You really do have to try both and see what you like better.

I agree. Topre switches feel like a smoother version of a rubber dome keyboard, which is actually what it is. You don't have to bottom out HARD, but you do have to press the switch all the way. This is unlike browns, where you feel the actuation point in the middle of the keystroke, before you bottom out. I was, and still am, a big buckling spring fan, so I thought I would always bottom out and never learn to use tactile MX switches as they are intended, but I was wrong.
-
I'd have to get a RF since my primary use is split between casual typing/gaming. This would be ideal if Topre switches are appropriate for gaming.

There's no "appropriate for gaming". There's only what you like, and what you don't. The rest is marketing and superstition.
-
I'm aware of that, but will it be sufficient for constant starting/stopping strokes? Or is it too smooth/linear-like for that? I'm an FPS guy do I'm constantly adjusting my position and whatnot. I'm not one to fall for the "gaming keyboard/mouse" marketing gimmick, but rather the type that wants to get the right keyboard.
