Title: [Order Sent on 8/17] Nyan Cat

The Nyan Cat Up and Down keys will start at the 1000 tier. The Nyan Cat Backspace will start at the 100 tier. I'm that confident geekhack can reach these prices with the amount of interest we had in the past few months.

I will confirm the prices for PBT Dye-sub on Monday with SP. PRICES MIGHT BE LOWER!

We will be redesigning the legend for a new backspace to fix the left alignment. A small legend fee (~$45 to $80) will be added which will be divided into each order.

1 FULL SET consists of:

1 x Backspace
7 x Up
6 x Down

A full set means all the keys behind the backspace which is from ` to = or ~ to +.

It's the "orientation" of the rainbow "bits" at the edge of a key. On the up key, the bits on the edges are higher "up". And similarly for the down key.

Would be nice that it is a bit different than the other set, to motivate those who have the old set, and also to have something new

But I can't think of a modification that would be as awesome as this one, since another backgroud color doesn't work apparently, and there is no variation (metal nyancat, troll nyancat, etc…) as known as this one, and we can't really change the direction or whatever.

Djuzuh, there was a modification on the backspace to better align with the rest of the keys. That is why there will be a new one time for the legend cost for just the backspace. It is not a huge modification. I do not see a need to modify the keys because it's an original piece!

These are samples from last round, they are kinda of thick, because of trying to make it look pixelated.

I made an order with imsto before this GB came up :x and I'm getting two sets done from him.. so I figured it'd be pointless to get more sets than how many keyboards I have D: I also changed up the design a bit to make it my own :3

You're right. Is the profile, texture, and print all the same though? I'm not sure on that matter. Lets see where we go on for this as of now. I'm still hoping this comes out altogether. It is still better than the prices at $40~$50. It is not the same price as before though.

Edit: I am not sure where we stand at this point. I might delete all nyan cat posts and just redo it. At this point, this is a lot cheaper than just buying individual keys. $26.91 (2.07 x 13 1x1 keys) + $2.96 (1 backspace key) comes out to $29.87. Reaching anywhere from 75 keys would already be plenty nice.

Also, if we do hit your expected number of orders of sets, then the price per set will be close to the incorrect low price from last time.

You won't be doing many flat rate boxes, but your profit there is at least $1.05 to $2.05 as well.

But yeah, either don't be a jerk about other people's choices in running group buys and get off of the high horse, or actually walk the walk please. It really irritates me that you'd advertise this as "the white knight group buy that saves you from the tyranny of greedy group buy organizers"... who themselves are just as benevolent but just looking for something in exchange for their time.

It works out cheaper for most people, since mainly people want a full set. I think what you want to do is find someone who doesn't want to have all the rainbow bits of their set, and buy just the backspace and get the rainbow bits from these people.

I'll have a word with melissa, but if you look at last round, there are parts where they are thinner and parts where it's thicker. That's probably something with their printing process, but I'll see if we can do something about it.

legend fee has to be split as well as shipping from sp -> sherryton. hard to know an exact number, but setup fees won't be much. Also, expect to pay paypal fees.

So was the post informing us to message Sherryton if we were still interested in purchasing the backspace key meant to imply that we could change our orders by increasing them, or that we could only remove backspace keys which had already been ordered now that the pricing is available? I don't really see the difference between ordering two more and un-ordering any amount, if either of these were what was offered, so I'm just trying to make verify whether I can receive four backspace keys now that I know what the actual pricing is, as I don't see the figure changed on the Google docs form.

The bad news involves paypal. The account we are collecting money with has a limit on receiving moneys by gift. This limit is that money collected through GIFT would be held 21 days ( don't recall exactly) until we can use it. Now that shouldn't be a problem since we were collecting money through Goods/Service. However, we were receiving payments but the money was showing up in the Paypal balance.

Last I spoke with sherry, he was going out to get a new bank account to lift this limit. However, haven't heard from him since (he is busy with some things as well).

So two routes can happen from here:

-We wait out 21 days to get the money to order from SP.
-Sherry gets the limit lifted, we refund all received money and collect again.

(- Sherry gets the limit lifted, everything is fine. Tho I'm not sure of this happening)

Anyway, back to my 50 page report!

Easy bro, what you experienced happened because PayPal are DI-reallynicepeople-CKS and locked their account the first time around. They had to open a new account and are now re-collecting money. No worries if you don't want to participate, but it's not the group buy owner's fault and the status has been pretty regularly communicated. No need to be so butt-hurt about it.

I think this was a bit slow, and it was our fault. From all the original buyers, we expected it to hit 150. So we had to shell out money. That's why we delayed it a little to get as many people on.

We can still try to revise it with Melissa keeping her job. Let me know. I'll try to go with majority of the vote. Should we try to re sample it to get it more perfect? or is this fine?

So what I am saying is that if Melissa can guarantee that the colors will NOT turn out like the sample, but will actually turn out as requested, then there is no need to re-sample. But if the process is this badly calibrated then we might have to ask them to re-sample.

It is the same color. That's exactly how the first ones were made.

I believe she said the picture's color is on par with what she actually sees, but I will obtain the sample real soon. I'll see what can be done.

And yes, their dye sub colors are based on PBT because we chose the dye sub process. I think imsto may be able to produce this with better colors, but the key cap is off white I believe.

Edit: Took a closer look and it actually looks like the rainbow was printed with a slight slant and not straight on the backspace key

-Backspace legend not taking up the whole key.

I think if possible, the yellow should be fixed, if nothing else.

But most people didn't have a problem with the last set. So I think this might be as far as we may go with changes on this set. We'll see if we can do anything.

Its happened to me too when I was living in London.

Should really point that out next time we do something like this. We can just put the value on the customs form much lower to avoid stupid tax.

Is it that it won't fit in the slot completely? We're seeing what we'll do about this if it is the case. (It happened last round IIRC).

This is my problem exactly. Heating it and trying to un warp it like what you would do to a spacebar didn't work
