Title: TrulyErgonomic English US 104 MX Browns
Post by: pabloedvardo on Mon, 14 May 2012, 23:41:41
Hello,

I am selling my TrulyErgonomic 104 key US QWERTY with MX Browns keyboard.

I have the original box and packaging. I bought it earlier this year, but had too many issues with key remapping not working in games (the default ergo layout is too unnatural for me). Other than a slight darkening of the text over the left ctrl button, it is in perfect condition.

I am asking $160 + the cost of shipping (FedEx or UPS insured). Payments will be handled with Paypal. US buyers only please.

Thanks

Lowering the price to $150. That's $80 off the retail price (before shipping), and as low as I can go!

Where are you shipping from?  Are the keys swappable?  I mean, I can tell some of them are unique, but are the alphanum keys swappable?

Shipping from WI, USA.

All the keycaps are removable, but they're mostly all unique in terms of angle/height to create a smooth ergonomic key surface. You could theoretically replace them with other keycaps, but the angles might be weird.

Hmm.  Bummer.
That's a sweet board, though.  GLWS
As much brouhaha as this caused 9-10 months ago, I'm VERY surprised it hasn't been snatched up already.

I'm definitely interested in trying one out. I found to like MX Brown switches the most, but I'm also unsure about that layout. I might just have a second keyboard for games if I ended up buying this. I spent way too much on keyboards and computer parts these last few months so I gotta start selling stuff to make up the difference before I can buy anything new again.

I know the feeling, once I sell this keyboard I can afford to get a Rat 7 MMO :P

As far as the layout, remapped it's not so bad. I used it with CTRL and SHIFT remapped to their 'standard' locations, and used the 'end' button as my alt key, in addition to remapping the right shift back to 'enter' and the upper right button to 'backspace'. Too many years to re-learn when I go back and forth to work where we use standard keyboards.

However, the times I did use it in its default layout, it is EXTREMELY comfortable if you can get used to it. The thumb-tappable enter, shift right under your pinky, and the offset keys really give it an ergo feel without a big bulky size (like the MS Natural Keyboards). It feels ridiculously solid too, well built. It also forced me to adopt better typing practices. Even though I'm over 100wpm, I tend to 'cheat' a lot using mostly my index and ring finger. The trulyergonomic forces you to use your pinkies like they're meant to be used.

If I hadn't chance ran across an MX Brown Cherry server keyboard that fits within the same footprint, I'd probably have 2 keyboards as well. I just love MX Browns!

Apologies for the double post / bump. I hope I'm not breaking rules I just didn't want to make a whole new thread for this.

The keyboard is still for sale, packed neatly into its original box and packaging just waiting for a new home. I can take some pictures if anyone wants, but it looks exactly like it does on the web site.

Note that the keyboard is still on backorder, so this is the easiest (and cheapest!) way to get your hands on an original TECK.

Again, $150 is a STEAL for this model. If you know anyone who has been considering an ergonomic keyboard like a Kinesis, but they don't want to drop an arm and a leg like I did, this is the perfect opportunity!

If you don't like paypal, I can also accept payment through my Square account (so credit cards & debit cards), but I will have to add a small extra fee to account for Square's 3.5% surcharge.

Thanks

Adding pictures might help. I have no idea how this is still not sold. Great price. Glws
