Title: KBTalking Pro - Wireless Bluetooth/wired mechanical keyboard.
Post by: laffindude on Fri, 18 May 2012, 01:53:04
This is inexact and incomplete translation: http://kbtalking.cool3c.com/article/59511

One keyboard to rule them all. (He did write something like this in Chinese)
Wireless Bluetooth supports Windows, Mac, Android devices (Android 3.0 needed), iOS devices, and yes even PS3. This is an one to many device meaning you can pair to with bunch of devices and switch to outputting to any device you want.
It is also wired, so you can plug it into a desktop to power it, and still use it's bluetooth features. Wired mode doesn't charge the battery, but supposedly it can last up to a year given ~3hour usage daily.

Short cut keys:

There are OS specific shortcut keys. In different keyboard profile, the shortcut keys change to ones recognized by the intended OS.

Squirrels strikes again. Instant noodle and "health" mode returns. Both of these mode turns off the keyboard after a set interval to remind you that your ramen is done or time to take a break (it is 1-15min programmable and 60min respectively).

I am probably forgetting some stuff. I BELIEVE Zippy is manufacturing these in house. Pretty sure these are plate mounted and uses Cherry stabilizers.

It is based on a new Zippy mechanical keyboard. It has both wired and wireless mode operation, which can be used concurrently. Meaning, you can keep the keyboard plugged into your computer, and use hotkey to switch between the outputs to connect to your iDevice or Android wirelessly (you can pair with with multiple devices at the same time). It takes 2 AA batteries, and can operate without batteries provided it's plugged into USB.

It's a bit on the homely side, but there aren't many choices in mechanical wireless boards. I'll hold the pricing for now. It is a niche product, so expect accordingly. I'll post more when more stuff pops up.

In for one when they make it in Poker size.

Poker size is unlikely though. I am also pretty sure it is not backlit. Computex pictures are from an earlier prototype. The current prototype looks padprinted.

I would settle for a TenKeyLess version.

If someone is looking for a wireless keyboard, they are likely also looking for something that saves space. How is that still not understood by manufacturers?

I remember the wireless adapter never worked or something like that.

Yeah, the Neo Zelia. I would still take one of those to use wired though, it is a nice board otherwise I thought. There was some talk somewhere else of them fixing the wireless on a later revision but I have no idea if that happened.
Bluetooth Filco would probably be best bet, if you can live with JIS.

I'd love a TKL bluetooth Mech Keyboard. I personally loathe any kind of dongle that ties up USB ports and uglifies my pc/laptop

So ya. These went on for pre-ordering on KBT for the past month, and the first round closes today.

The finalish spec is that lasered caps. They're available in grooved and laser foamed legend. Grooved version has a separate piece of plastic showing the alternate functions, which are not lasered onto the caps. Only thing really changed from the first post is the merged iOS and MAC mode key.

They've had them before, but this is the best I've seen thus far. I really like the "noodles" key and break-taking.
