Post by: cactux on Sat, 19 May 2012, 07:41:33
The new buyer will save some money with this vintage bb (http://www.dotmed.com/listing/other/ch-products/dt225/trackbal-pro-mouse/1122351). Any Paypal (http://www.paypal.com) Donations for my Ferrari are always welcome ;-)

That trackball has been on sale for at least a few months: http://goo.gl/QmjWi

I have 3 DT225s. One was NIB when I bought it - I paid $85 shipped. The other 2 were used and they cost me $27 (plus shipping) and $12 (plus shipping).

I paid $20 for two NIB but am looking for a USB one.

The one I got NIB is USB. The other two used ones are PS/2. I'm using two DT225s simultaneously; I found having one USB and the other PS/2 quite handy - I could program one for moving the cursor and the other for scrolling in Linux easily because the system identifies them as different devices.

I would be interested (even in a PS2 one, and especially if they sometimes go for $12) but I'm a little off put by the 300 dpi rating. Thanks Ripster (http://'http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?17352-Kensingtons-DPI-Sucks-Donkey-Balls') I'd use it on my laptop, which is 1024*768, but I eventually plan to use it on my 1600*1200 monitor. Given the data, it'll take a revolution to cross the screen.

I've no experience with trackballs, but I imagine this to be bad.

I do not know who told you that, but I just got an email TODAY from the vendor saying:

Good morning ,
Yes this unit is still for sale. Please send me your business name and shipping address. I'll send over a quote. 7day option to return for refund.
Thank you for contacting NWS
