Title: Commodore 64 Keycap Font & Style
Post by: 2dfx on Mon, 21 May 2012, 20:08:31
After searching through various wiki pages and searching around in various forums, I cannot for the life of me find out what font style or material your garden-variety C64 keyboard uses:

As for the font, it seems to be some kind of Lucida console-ish font?  These keys look like they're doubleshots, but does anyone know what material they're made of?  Hard to tell from the picture...doing an order for a WASD V1 to best imitate the C64 style and look.

I understand no amount of tweaking will ever come close to the spherical keys...one can try right? :)

Hmm...long and interesting reads!

Closest thing I can compare it to is Trade Gothic Bold Condensed 20.  Identifont is where I got it but I'm at URL limits apparently...

...but the tail in the Q ends flat on the C64 whereas in Trade Gothic Condensed 20 it does not:

Getting closer...
