Title: I'm confused... No stabilizer support on keycaps?
Post by: square965 on Fri, 01 June 2012, 12:40:18
[Solved]

I just decided to buy a blank white 104 keycap set from WASD a few days ago. It arrived in the mail and as I try to put them on, I realize that there is no place for the stabilizer bars on the keys. Is this normal? There were no options or anything on the web site when I ordered.

Do you have a keyboard with Costar stabilizers? Are you referring to needing these?

Yep... I didn't realize they wouldn't come with the caps.

Looks like I can just remove them from my old caps though.

Thanks guys, sorry for the stupid question.

Not a stupid question at all.  If you bought a "naked" keyboard without any caps to scavenge the inserts from then you would be in a pickle until you got some of those inserts.  It might not be a bad idea to get some extras if you replace caps a lot.  They are thin in places and can be broken if your aren't careful while removing them from the cap.  I've broken them.
