Title: Odd problem with my Leopold. Wondering if anyone can suggest a fix
Post by: lazyguy on Sun, 10 June 2012, 21:08:49
So I've had my Leopold FC200RC (MX Blue) for about 2 years and sometimes the keyboard would bug out on me and my `, esc, 1, q, a, z, and tab key would just stop working while all other keys are fine. Sometimes it works when I reboot the computer not really sure why but now it has seem to completely stop working all together. Anyone have a similar problem or know of a possible fix?

if you're using the ps/2 converter, I hear that is usually the cause of those kinds of issues, if not, try a different usb port, or chord?

I am using USB and have tried different ports and different cords. Nothing seems to work and I have tried restarting 10 times to no effect. Thanks for the suggestion though

the switches may be faulty, do they all feel normal?
Did they all get the problem at once?
Did anyone spill any liquids into the board?

All the switches feel normal. The keys all dropped at once. I haven't spilled any liquid in.

In an odd way, I found a fix. I opened up the keyboard and unscrewed the USB input from the frame and plugged it in without the frame and all of a sudden it works fine. I am a bit confused but it works but now my frame is somewhat useless and there is a cable that just juts out. I will play around a bit more with it to see if I can determine exactly what happens

Edit: Thanks for all the help falcon and pixel
