Patience pays off I guess, especially seeing everytime this seller puts up Model F's NIB they all sold for him at $300+, actually he sold one for $480, I was patient since I knew he had them coming in on and on so I waited for the fire to calm down, and I won it for way less. Its solely for collection purposes and nothing else since its new and has weird layout....

I think this one would be fun to use and have it as collection too.

The first one is an 83-key IBM Model F from the IBM PC/XT. You wouldn't be able to use it on anything other than an XT anyway without a converter. It's definitely a great keyboard. I consider the Model Fs to be the greatest keyboards ever made, superior to even the Model M which gets a lot more attention from keyboard enthusiasts.

I know chris, its just for collection, I got so many IBM's that I currently use, whether using the XT with soarer or not it dont matter, but its only for collection purposes.... you dont find IBM keyboard year 84-85 NIB that easy for that price. Considering its worth to collectors up to point paying for it $400+, me as an fresh IBM collector I got bunch of different IBM's new ones mostly and few used that I use on daily basis, this one at that price for collection is a big WIN in my books. But I wouldnt go that far paying $400+ like some people did month a go for the same keyboard NIB from the same seller. I'm not that much wacked out lol

Good finds, maybe a little too pricey for the F XT.
-
Still a great board. I'm in the same boat as you with Model F's. I have several Model F's which would never work with a PC in their current state, but I collect them anyways because they're great.

Point though is: did the OP get a good deal on his IBM's?
----
@ OP: That's a pretty good deal. I haven't checked the trackball M's, but I'd imagine they go for more than what you paid. I don't think the project gutenberg F-XT's are NIB, but they do have the box and are in good shape. If it is new, that's a pretty good deal, indeed.

Plus it's cool that it came from the ebook inventor's estate. It has a story behind it. Hopefully it comes with some sort of authentication certificate for OP. That would definitely increase its value.

Foghat.digs got the other one, march 1984, I believe. I think this is older than my WYSE keyboard, and therefore now my oldest hardware! Now I just need to get an F XT like you have :p
Thanks for posting that in great finds, bytheway. Looks like we've both profited on ebay model F's.
