Title: Is Anyone Selling the Leopold TKL Otaku White Anymore?
Post by: quanticle on Mon, 25 June 2012, 15:54:01
A while ago, I purchased the Leopold Tenkeyless "Otaku" keyboard with white keycaps and Cherry MX Blue switches from EliteKeyboards. Today, I went back to snag another one for home, and I couldn't even find the listing any more. I see a listing for the identical version with black keycaps (and it's gone up in price by $10 since I purchased mine), but I don't even see a listing for the white keycaps. Does anyone else sell this board? Or is my only option to get a different CherryMX board and replace the keycaps with blank ones?

EK is the only place that sells leopolds afaik. When replacing with blank white caps, just keep in mind that leopold space bars will not be compatible with standard space bars. You'll have to find an off-white replacement spacebar to match original leopold off-whtie caps. Best bet is to just get a complete PBT blank white set, or ABS blank white from wasdkeyboard.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I might get a KBT Pure instead of a Leopold then and forget about the blank keycaps.

EDIT: Either that, or get a CoolerMaster CM Storm (http://www.mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=37) and a set of blank keycaps from WASD.

The QF rapid is a good choice. I have one. You may consider getting blank PBT keycaps as an alternative. I much prefer PBT.

I think imsto has a GB for some good looking graphite blanks in the GB section for $56 or so.

That said, I really like WASD: They are great to deal with, and deliver a quality product, but I feel their forte really lies in the level and quality (and price) of their truly custom options.
