Without going into much detail, today I had to take a fairly substantial essay test. I wanted to bring my mechanical keyboard for this test, but I decided to be a courteous guy and instead bring my Logitech K800 wireless keyboard which is of course much quieter than a mech.
Let me start over.
Yesterday, I drove from my house to the testing site, approximately 120 miles. When I arrived, I realized that I had brought my K800, but I forgot to bring one of those damn universal transmitter connector things so that the wireless keyboard would work. I cursed all life and then decided to just go to Best Buy and buy a receiver/transmitter so I wouldn't have to type on this horrible laptop keyboard. At Best Buy, as it turns out, there is no way to just buy a connector by itself. I would have to buy a mouse too. Now I don't know about you, but I hate wireless mice, 99% of the time. But they had a wireless mouse that was only $18 and I figured a wireless receive would probably cost $10 by itself so I thought, "why not?"
I got back to my hotel, plugged the transmitter in and found out that the transmitter that came with the mouse is not compatible with the wireless keyboard. FML. So I had to type the entire essay on this damn laptop keyboard.
I've already sworn to myself that if I've failed this test, I'm going to use a keyboard with blues when I retake the test just because I'm so vengeful.
So that's my story for today. Let's hear yours.

Go big or go home, bring a Model M or a 122. Not sure if there's mods to make them louder (I think Bolt Mod makes it louder?)

First world problems

Had to take a difficult (or so they said) exam. 8 hours of programming in Lisp, overheated room full of people, terrible chairs. Ordered a 84-key Cherry MX Red keyboard for this occasion. Order was delayed. The plan failed. Then just took my thinkpad & thinkpad keyboard & trackball (you've should see other people's faces when they tried using trackball/trackpoint after they failed to scroll on a disabled touchpad… priceless), wrote about 300 lines of code and left with a B.
what! an 8 hour lisp exam? sweet baby jesus

You should have brought a desktop instead so you wouldn't have to worry about laptop keyboards.
