Hi. Guys..
Girlcd asked an explanation about new ironman in a hurry.
In brief.
1. Ironman SE is 2 color plated version.
2. But 20 piece at his reply is not GB item. 2 color plated ironman keycaps will come to the front on 9, Aug
3. 20 pieces are color combiatnion quantities with various color
4. He will choose one color for GB item at GH, and then begin to product 20 pieces for GB
5. But exactly date, shipping method, etc not confirmed,
6. later I or my friend(GH) will post Ironman GB at GH
7. Whale cap proto type is unfolded after 3 weeks / not GB Start date
He mentioned wrong fact by mistake, because of Google translate ^_^// (I like Google..)
So many people are confused.
He wants to make an apology to you.
GirlDC wants to make many creative, unique keycap step by step...

ok, so it sounds like whale caps are not finalized in any way yet. instead, we will be getting ironman SE caps which will be a new ironman design which uses two colors instead of one (the previous run of ironman caps were either silver or gold -- in this run he will produced multicolored caps). there are almost CERTAINLY going to be more buyers than supply, since we will be getting exactly 20 of these.
i am working with girldc and yg to figure out how to get these to folks and how to distribute. sit tight folks. these are going to be awesome!

registering your interest is awesome (even though we have more interest by far than the largest possible supply at the moment :P), but please don't consider a post in this thread a guarantee or indication in any way that you will get one of the ironman SE caps. unfortunately due to the interest, the actual fulfillment will probably have to be done on a lottery system.
further, i've been discussing costs with yg and girldc and actual cost of these items will necessarily be over 100$ per cap, delivered in the CONUS.
note that the previous two statements may end up being contradictory. the projected price point may make a lottery system unnecessary.
by the way, long story short: girldc posted this having no idea how much interest he would gather, and was absolutely floored by all the positive comments and attempts to order :), then unfortunately he freaked out when he realized there was no way he could actually deliver to everyone. i believe this is what is called a "success disaster" :)

Pretty sure there will be plenty of interest even at that price. I know I'd be interested :D The Iron Man is a really awesome looking cap, an amazing piece of art.
I actually tried to get in on KBD's original GB but missed out. I believe there were only 30 ironman / 30 punisher skull caps offered in the original GB.
Lottery system sounds fair. Maybe something like letting each interested individual choose a number between 1 and 100 (suppose there are 100 interested) and have Girldc pick 20 randomly....
but I'm sure you guys have a better idea :)

Is it because it's a 2-tone that the price goes way up? I recall reaper paying about $57~ each for the 5 or 6 that he bought.

there's a large variety of reasons. however, one thing i will say is that, from what i've been told, the first batch was sold at a huge loss.
also, regarding future designs, darth something something storm something something...... NO GUARANTEES!

What are these keycaps made from? and secondly:
Colors Request (Face/Helm):
GOLD/RED (obviously)
SILVER/NAVY BLUE (obviously)
SILVER/RED

the caps are cast from a silver alloy and then plated with a high strength brass alloy and either silver or gold (or ???) to get color and reflectivity.
it's not clear to me exactly what color(s) the new caps will be yet, but dyes such as blue/red are definitely out of the question. the color is determined by the final plating process, and hence is limited to the natural color of a metal alloy. here are the possibilities for our batch of caps:
black with gold
black with silver
silver with gold
as a reminder: these caps will be > 100$ PER CAP, shipped.
