It looks like some kind of math or engineering legends. I wonder if this 'board was sold with something like a CAD station.

It's for the APL programming language: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APL_(programming_language)#APL_symbols_and_keyboard_layout

Thanks, I'll email Brian.
The Wiki entry even had a song:
That's a little over the top. I hope Geek Girl does not approve.
WAY OT: Do any of the UK members remember the Del Monte Man commercials back inthe 80's? Geek Girl kinda reminds me of them. I always loved how the Del Monte Man would say "yes," and the poor f*cks from the 3rd-world country he was visiting would rejoice and have a feast in his honor, or something. Lame (not Geek Girl; the Del Monte Man).

The recorded version is availible here (http://www.prometheus-music.com/eli/virtual.html). It's a lot better than the written lyrics would suggest.

One of my mini's has odd characters on it but I think they are finance related, no numpad either, which I thought was odd.
-
Unicomp (http://pckeyboards.stores.yahoo.net//adcolkey.html) still has these available. Its hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like the letter keys have the APL symbols in Monochrome rather then color. Wonder how much demand there is for something like this anymore.
-
But the numpad function (SHF Scrolllock)still works doesn't it???
Now I'm curious about your keycaps. I've only seen a Wordstar version on the minis.
Odd since minis were supposedly for server closets. I'm being to suspect that's another "Internet Legend".
Actually, it does not. Let me break it out and take pictures. BRB

You would think that for a financial outfit that a numpad would be needed/wanted. Its not even available on this particular mini.
I too read somewhere that the mini was meant for server closets as it fit in a 19 inch rack.
My '92 mini is behind me on the shelf. I will be revisiting it soon enough I suppose. This black alps filco is still on my desk though.
oh, btw. don't go all gollum on me with the blue Ctrl key. : ) and no, you can't have it. so you see my mini is more special then your mini. : ) sorry, thats just the way things turn out....bwahhhhhaaaa!

I didn't know WHAT you were talking about so I pulled it up here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BymCaEsIrVQ) Now I know what you mean.
But THIS version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6AmFLU5QVQ)is for the Germans and the Dutch. Ya gotta love Herzog movies to get this one. Makes Christian Bale look like a wimp.
I don't think those commercials ever ran in the US. I used to mention them to my friends, and they had never heard of them.

My Northgate has a blue Ctrl key, a green Shift key and a red Alt key. I like the colors.
