that thing have buttons?
it seems like not only rotative but up and down moving is used
seems very tricky

I've seen this thing before. My guess is that while the translational axes are joystick-like, just like the Spacetec/3Dconnexion devices, the rotational axes are obviously much more akin to a trackball mouse than a joystick. This should probably help a lot when playing Descent.

Watching the drawing demo gives me an idea of how people already combine 3Dconnexion devices and Wacom Cintiq monitors in their art workflows...(for some reason, 3DxWare has a Photoshop plugin despite that generally being used for 2D work.)

It's probably designed for/only usable as a controller for graphics software.

So were the Spacetec products that weren't the SpaceBall Avenger or SpaceOrb 360, as well as everything 3Dconnexion. Guess what GlovePIE does for them?

It passes off their inputs to PPJoy's virtual joystick driver, proper analog support and all, and the scripting capabilities are fairly robust, allowing me to do some crazy things with those inputs if I wanted to. Problem solved.

Of course, that all depends on whether or not such utilities bother supporting that Axsotic trackball in the first place.

I want to get an IBM-branded spaceball:

For some reason, the IBM ones just look so much better (IBM even said to make a few of the buttons lavender).
