I've been in the market for a good mechanical since the beginning of Feb. I use a Unicomp at work that I am in love with (and lust after when away from it for too long), but I'm one of those dudes with a girlfriend and a bedroom computer setup... there seem to be many of us. I've also decided that the Das Keyboard aesthetic is not for me. I'm also not interested in doing currency conversions or learning pictographic languages, so that basically leaves elitekeyboards and the Leopold Tenkeyless, which is EXACTLY what I want and couldn't be happier that I'll be able to get it, for a decent price to boot...

But man, is my patience ever being tested! Two months for the keyboard I want/need. Is there a support group for Leopold product-page refreshers?

get the filco tenkeyless from amazon. and then in 20-30 days return it (assuming youve kept it in a New Condition) and then get the leopold from EK.

Might as well keep the Filco then.

Either pre-order the Leopold and stop complaining about having to wait (it's already been a 4 month wait...), or just get the Filco.

I was used to using the numpad once...then I bought a Filco tenkeyless and got unused to it :p

I feel like the only reason to have a numpad is if you do your own finances or work in a field with high number entry. Even then, you're better off just getting a separate numpad. The tenkeyless form factor is great and...sexy!

lol he said that he couldnt wait 30 more days for his leopold so i offered a solution that was free and he would still be able to use a tenkeyless keyboard. while waiting to get the leopold.

Post by: Engine on Mon, 14 March 2011, 16:51:23: I love the Space Saver, although mine came damaged. The front seam tabs are busted apparently but not gapping, just "spongy". I can "sqeeze" and see it move to and fro but not gap, so fine w/me. I called "Jim" at Unicomp and he said send it back but eh, I'm not gonna bother. Unicomp is good about this by the way, as far as I have experienced their customer service so far but have not tested them to the hilt because I am keeping it, since it's for me and not all that bad. I still am happy w/it.

The LED is in the key switch itself. There is some light bleed around my ducky caps if I cover the LED, so even if you put a solid cap on those switches, you may still notice the light. I don't see why you couldn't cover the LED itself, if you really wanted too. Either with a little dark paint, or with something removable like a tiny piece of duct tape.

It took a bit, like 4 days if I recall correctly, but they added the new items to my order no problem. I did not get a return email though actually, just a link directing me to pay for my new items :). So I am guessing that everyone is correct in that you will get a response if money is involved. If not, you are pretty low priority.

- Are we there yet?; i.e. what does "end of March mean?"
- Do you plan to or when will you carry product X? (do we have a newsletter?)
- I live in country X and I didn't read the FAQ.
- Pre-sales questions in the support mailbox.

Medium Priority
- Order changes/additions to backorders
- Out of the norm order & shipping requests; i.e. shipping with non-standard carrier
- tl;dr type stuff; i.e. if you write 5 paragraphs of your special needs and life history with multiple questions, then despite a respectful tone and interest in our product, I will need to find a good 10+ mins to answer these, please be patient

High priority (ASAP, <24 hour response)
- Address changes
- Order cancellations/combinations
- Order corrections; i.e. wrong item quantity received
- Keyboard RMAs

I am actually looking to hire a sales person to handle a lot of the e-mail, but the above priorities will not change.

BTW, over the last week and a half we cannot send e-mail to Hotmail accounts, seems their mail administrator has blocked whole subnets of IP addresses in a feeble attempt to combat SPAM; not that it is news that Hotmail is crap, but just in case you were feeling ignored...

Remap the key to what really belongs there, Ctrl, and the LED won't come on at all. When was the last time you used caps lock? You could also desolder the LED.

He responds, but it can take him a couple days to do so. Smaller operation and all, that's to be expected (plus keyboard nuts undoubtedly ask a ton of questions).

I used the wrong email. I sent it to the sales address and not the address for customer service. It was my fault and I still got a response faster than it took Sapphire who I emailed on the same day. Also much faster than Steelseries.

I spoke way too soon.
