This is listed as in stock and at $76 now. I just ordered one. I was in the market for a board with pcb mounted switches.

The description says "...MX Gold Crosspoint Keyswitches...". Does it mean Cherry MX blue?
I want standard US keyboard layout with narrow "Enter", with "|" above and long Backspace on top. Is it it?

It's MX blue, and yes, it's US layout as you want.

Are these boards NKRO? I've been trying to decide on a decent PCB mounted board. I was also looking at a MX11900 but those are for sure not NKRO.

Well, Fedex just dropped off the board that I ordered from Provantage. The first thing that I noticed is that there are no nubs on the F and J keys. That is going to take some getting used to. I may have to keep my eye on ebay for a G81 with doubleshots. Other than that it seems like a nice keyboard so far.

I just noticed that the 5 key does have a nub. Now if anything you would think that the nubs on the f and j keys are the more important two.

Oh you're right, thanks. Now that you pointed it out to me it it feels obvious. The scoop seems to do the trick pretty well too.

Thanks again.

Thats my baby.

I pulled the spacebar just to verify that it does have a green, btw.

I didn't try the single with key but it took 70 grams in the center of the spacebar to activate it. The rest that I tried took 60. It does feel noticeably stiffer though.

Sorry, it turns out that I was dropping the coins onto the switch a bit too hard. When sliding the coin onto the stack really carefully like taking a block when playing jenga it took 15 coins so it is somewhere in between 70 and 75 grams.

I would be interested to see how much it takes to activate a ghetto green.

Wait, so how does this compare with an Adesso MK-135B?

The Addesso is $15 cheaper at B&H Photo Video (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/696851-REG/Adesso_MKB_135B_Full_Size_Mechanical_Gaming.html), offers NKRO, a USB hub, and audio pass through. However, build quality is supposedly worse.

But doesn't the Cherry have PCB-mounted switches? The Adesso has plate mounted switches. The Adesso theoretically should have better build.

The only real issue I currently have against the Adesso is the use of Arial. I care about typography on my keyboards since I look at them quite a bit and I'd rather not have Arial on my keycaps.

Rejoice! It took long enough, that's for sure.

IMHO PCB mounted switches are easier on the fingers. You're not bottoming out on a steel plate, which makes a huge difference. Also, they're easily moddable.

Now let's start rallying for brown switched G80's

I'm not so sure that they would be willing to listen. Since I bought my board on the 21st they have only sold one other board, if what they are listing as in stock is correct. These things aren't exactly selling like hot cakes.

American like their keyboards heavy and loud like their women.

This phrase can have two meanings:
American like their keyboards heavy and loud like their women [are]
or
American like their keyboards heavy and loud like their women [do]

In either case, it implies that "American" (since they have women) are either males or Lesbian females,
or, to put it simple, that no heterosexual woman can be American.

Sexist phrases are mostly that dumb, or even worse.
They may sound witty at first sight, but when you look at what's behind them,
you find they are nonsense and their authors just courting the favour of equally dumb males,
which again would suggest they are not quite at ease with women.

Quod erat demonstrandum.

Interessantly enough, I criticize dumb sexist postings and ripster and keyboardlover answer with dumb xenophobic postings.
Which again might be taken as a proof that not the postings are dumb - obviously, the posters themselves are.

I do grant you that, ripster.
And by the way, thanks for your wikis. I have learned quite a lot reading them.

Would be nice if you could refrain from (often unconsciously) insulting people, be they women, foreigners (to your country) or whatever.
Your wikis are great, your jokes are not.

Yeah, that sounds closer to the spec.  65cn.  KL got 75g which seems stiff to me.

I'm going to make up a ghetto green and check that one.

Some people bought the white on white and found that the space bar has bended problem.

http://ppt.cc/@ljO (http://ppt.cc/@ljO)

I don't know if the black on black also has the same problem. Probably someone who bought the black on black can do the check.

Moreover, it was said that these keycaps are not for mass production. Although I don't know how many sets they produced or if they will keep producing this or not.

Lumbering and strained logic regarding lesbians, keyboards, and a poor grasp of context cannot be excused purely upon your attempt at white knighting.

Also, it should be noted, the remark Ripster made was not sexist at all.  There are loud women and then there are heavy women, he was not implying that there was a large number of either, merely that Americans like them (think Roseanne or Rosie O'Donnell, I don't like either but people somewhere in the United States must because they remain fairly popular).  To argue that no such women exist is ridiculous but then to assume from another person's statement regarding them in particular that they mean that all women are "large" and "loud" is even more ridiculous.

At most you could argue that Ripster's statement was vaguely "anti-American" (whatever that means) but then you have to admit that you yourself take offense to it and are a nationalist weirdo who takes offense at such a silly jab.

Lastly, spelling out QED does not make you look smart, it makes you seem juvenile and makes you appear as though you are trying too hard.

Ripster posted to the "Great Finds" forum a great find, be thankful for the information and go about living your life.

This keyboard really is an under rated little gem. Now I remember what I loved about this keyboard so much. I normally don't even like plate mounted blues. To me these pcb mounted switches feel very different than the boards that I have tried with plate mounted blues. Its a much smoother feel to me and less of that alps feel plate mounted blues have to me. One other thing that I really love about this keyboard is the keycaps. I really love cherry's lasered keycaps. I like the rougher texture and I prefer the scooped f and j keys. The one gripe that I did have was the mx green in the spacebar. I popped that out and swapped it out for the blue in the caps lock key. Oh, and that makes me remember I really like a stepped caps lock as well.

The best part is that the whole keyboard costs less than a set of ugly signature plastics doubleshots and that includes the thicker pbt keycaps.

You could send them and email and ask if there is any chance of them getting any with mx browns. Couldn't hurt at least.
