I'm getting full N key on mine:
This is me pressing as many keys as I can with my arm and trying to take a Screen Shot at the same time

Ripster, none are dropping as far as I can tell, that was just me moving my hand trying to get the key pressed, I'll see if I can get a little more accuracy here.

The 4 yellow keys are me moving my fingers right when taking the Screen shot, I sat with all of those pressed down for about 40 seconds.
Ripster, how are you pressing all of your keys and getting the Screen shot at the same time.

I copied the pic from another thread.
I'm just curious about the 17/18/NKRO thing. In a practical sense I'm in the 6KRO is good enough crowd but would like to taunt the OCN crowd with accurate numbers.
I just tried to edit a matador and bull picture to display this.
Then i noticed that googling for "matador" is not SFW. Also, googling for "matador bull" is not less SFW. Some crazy gore **** right there!
I'm abandoning this photoshop.

@msarchet
Are you using PS/2 instead of USB?
-
Yea, as you can't get higher than 6 with USB
-
I should have said you can't get higher than 6 keys + modifiers, without device duplication on USB.

Sorry, but that's not correct. You can have as many as you like, but if you only have one device with lots of keys it probably won't work with some BIOS.

Oh, interesting. I was trying out AquaKeyTest a while back after I first got my leopold, but I figured I just didn't understand how the program worked since I was under the assumption that it had to be 6kro. I don't really care either way (don't get how it makes a difference), but that's still neat.

I'm not sure that's right either.
Exhibit One: The Microsoft Sidewinder X4
Exhibit Two: This Leopold
Haven't heard of anyone having BIOS problems. I believe only one keyboard is reported in Device manager but someone should confirm both of these assumptions.
There's 3 keyboards in my device manager right now if that helps. There's also 2 mice though and I only have one mouse plugged in, so I don't really know how reliable this is.

So this is with the FC400/500 models, or on the usual 200s EK sells? I was under the impression the 200s only had 6KRO

I'm sure BIOS that don't send the SetProtocol command are becoming rarer, but it is the one good reason for using multiple devices. The main thing I was challenging was that a single device is limited to 6KRO, a point which your exhibits support. Well... we're not sure exactly what the Leopold is doing yet, someone needs to dump the report descriptor(s) so we can have a definitive answer to that.

FC200RT in OS X 10.6.6 with USB using Keyboard Viewer, only 6 keys + 4 modifiers (shift control alt command)
