I've only seen the first two. How many are there now?
-
5 movies? (sorry, my daughter is 33 and far away so I can't keep up on movie series)
Damn, Rip, already at 34,000 posts. Too fast for this old geezer!
-
This movie should be good
-
Books + 1
Lotr = Books - 2
Hobbit = Null Set
Star Wars should have been 3
lotr - 2??
you mean boosk * 2?
hobbit isnt it in production?
-
I guess I shouldn't have fallen asleep 10 min into part 1. I probably will watch it sometime this week if it really was decent.
Peter looks like he split in two and the other half just ran off. He has lost an incredible amount of weight.
Edit: Is it just me or is Peter one of the few directors who is not a complete ass?

My favourite harry potter movie is the first one, not because it's the most faithful to the first book, but because it has a fresh breath. Not tired and worn out. The actors are also age appropriate in regards to time line...
-
Argh. I still have not seen the first part of The Deathly Hallows ... Must do before the movie premiere.
Lotr = Books + 2
The Lord of the Rings is a work of six "books," released in three volumes.
There are two "books" in each volume.
-
I just want to chip in that I think the time travel story in the third book is the best executed in all movies I've seen. Other than that I think the movies are sort of bleak. Haven't seen the first part of the deathly hallows yet though.

this thread is awesome, except i don't even know what is harry potter. Is he some hairy english gardener that doesn't wear a shirt or something?
-
It may have boobs in it now that Hermione is 18.
We can only hope.

Kung fu panda 2 > krull!

Good. The rest are terrible. The Dumbledore actor from 1 and 2 died and his replacement is a colossal failure.
Although, this actually does look pretty good.
-
The original actor did such a fine job with Dumbledore's general demeanor. He seemed to tread that line between powerful and kind-hearted very well. I was sad to see him go, and judged Gambon too harshly in the third movie because his portrayal was so different that he just came off as gruff. In the later films I stopped noticing.
Seems to me like the movies are getting better and better. I don't know how I'd feel if I hadn't read the books, since so much of the meat is in the school year and relationships and other things that don't always make it to the screen, especially as the books get thicker.
-
So in other words he was the perfect Dumbledore, they just didn't film fast enough.
-
Definitely not gay enough. Harris was way gayer for sure.
-
Do you create threads like this just to chat with yourself?

Haven't seen it yet. :[ Too busy prepping for a party today.
-
I saw it on release day here in Australia, I didn't enjoy it at all.
Forced drama, forced comedy.
It was better than Transformers though.
-
People were clapping when someone cut something's head off.
I asked my friends after the movie what they thought was worse, people clapping in the cinema, or people clapping when a plane lands.
-
was pretty good
Still like prisoner best
-
Harry Potter is dumb. The books were dumb, and I bet the movies are too.

I agree with RoboKrikit, exactly how I felt. Richard Harris was always solid and good as Dumbledore as well.

Harry Potter isn't so bad. It's kind of like GeekHack.
Snape is like iMav.

I liked the first two books but never got into the movies.
-
I've seen it today, after watching the first 7 movies the past 2 days. Yesterday I did the 4-7.1 without a break.
It was good. I liked how in the later movies they started to focus more on the characters and less on the one-off magic tricks and artifacts that have no connection to the actual story at all.
I think I liked 7.1 best, second place is shared by 7.2 and 6. Because, like I said, they had a lot of character development. And to me, character development is king when acted by great actors.
Oh, and I didn't read the books.
-
Now there is the opening to have the spin-off "How many ways Emma Watson is adorable and sexy ".

Knowing The Internet quite well, I am sure there is something out there already.

You're dumb and so's your face.
You know I really liked 7.1 as well for the same reason.
I did read the book and kept thinking "this is unfilmable".
Same. I saw the last one yesterday and loved it, but I appreciate 7.1 because they made it work.
Edit: 420 posts, maaaaan.

This could very well be the best post on GH. Ever.
