Sells for NT$1590 at inpad
The description says that these are tactile and clicky
-
How can you tell which type they are?
This is something I'll be watching though.
Edit: Are simplified sliders identical in geometry to complicated ones? Such that you could use the sliders interchangeably? I already checked the alps wiki.
-
I've swapped AEKII sliders into a Matias before. They aren't quite the same height, if I remember correctly, so you wouldn't want to mix and match, but if you did a full swap, I think it would likely be fine.

Yes they are identical (at least the XM), you can even use the XM sliders in the real alps.
-
Those sliders plus gray switchplates would make for one quite convincing ghetto blues alps board then. That and these would be brand new, no need for any grease or whatever.
-
Should be interesting ... I'll let you know how it feels once it arrives ;)
Seems they are aka Wintek -- or at least the Wintek peeps buy these are (re)brand them. I've owned a few Winteks over the years but none were mechanical.

Start saving nickels. RipOmeter (http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:6189).
Will do and report back.
-
Looks interesting.
Love the features:
-Visual Focal Point <---WHAT?
-Extra Rubber Thinkness and Distinctive Texture <---WOW!
-
Of course it might just be a $41 POS too ... but it's worth a shot LOL :D

Ducky with XM ALPS are much cheaper

3USD is an overstatement in terms of 'much cheaper', but it is still 'cheaper'
-
Those both look legendless.
Which doesn't bother me, this board in this lighting looks solid black.
-
Bring on the clones!
Clones of what ?
-
Clones of what ?
Jango Fett, obviously.
-
Jango Fett, obviously.
Bah...
The yellow cherry switches are surely clones.
On the Alps side nothing is obvious.
-
The 1007 is now my next board to lust for.
Any thoughts on shipping costs? adding another 50 USD though pushes it back to "DSI 6600" territory for an alps board.
-
NT$570 via air parcel and NT$840 via EMS
I think the seller accepts credit card payments but if you don't read chinese, it's gonna be a little bit of a trouble
-
that's under 70USD EMS delivered... for a no-compromises layout unlike the 6600, and modern build... and NKRO...
I have two Chinese-speaking co-workers; is this the time I finally ask for help?
-
review it!! ^^ pleasee :)

Yeah.. people are dying to know!
-
Why are alps so much cheaper than cherry switches?
-
Well I lost the first one i bid on, but just won the second earlier today for $40 USD + shipping :D
-
Mine has left Hong Kong (a few days ago) so it's somewhere between there and here I suppose :)

-
:/ news on the 1008. Per the chinese speakers at the office, there's no international shipping.on the inpad site.
-
Got mine yesterday, its not 18kro, its 6kro at least from what ive seen using aquatest
-
Yep I see 6KRO as well using the keyboard input thingy in OSX.
-
Thanks. I'll put in the NKRO Wiki.
Now the cheapest 6KRO keyboard I've seen.
Only if you win the auction for a decent price ;)
On a side-note, if you're not going to be using this keyboard exclusively for gaming, those rubber keycaps are awful. I replaced the wasd keycaps with ones from my TP3 and it made a huge difference in day-to-day use. The rubber keycaps on the arrow keys are fine though, they don't disturb me when touch typing like the wasd ones did.
On using this board more I am really liking the blue alps, much more than a couple of white alps boards that I have access to. It's the lightest touch alps switch I've had the opportunity to try to date, but it still retains that wonderful alps switch feel.
-
how difficult would it be to get a set of otaku keycaps for this board? the large enter, small control, small backspace? anyone have a rough estimate of $$$?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really wanted one of those Duckys with green alps.
-
Made by APC, guess all XM's are.
-
What? It's a random board with simplified alps. What else would people be calling them?
-
Ah so are these companies manufacturing the XM's themselves, or is there one company making all of them?
They are ALPS Simplified Type IIs. Simplified Type ONES are related to ALPS.
Long story. Ask sometime in my subforum if you want to know more. (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?22127-APC-Blue-ALPS)

Seems to be up on amazon for 60 dollars
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005IKLDYE/ref=redir_mdp_mobile
Sorry for the mobile site link I'm on my phone.
-
Swapped some keycaps today. These are great switches. The more I type the more I like.
-
The bottom right side of the the bottom row kind of annoys me with the small modifier keys, otherwise i dont have any complaints about the board
-
Where can buy ALPS keycaps to replace the rubber ones?
-
http://www.amazon.com/Classic-mechanical-gaming-typing-keyboard/dp/B005IKLDYE
Only $41.98 with free super saver shipping!!! I would be IN41 if it were ANSI...

Looks ANSI to me. That's a "Bigass" enter key, so it's not ISO. The shifts are the proper size as well.
Edit: Also, that's a great price for a 6+KRO ALPS board to try. I may grab one.
---
Who wants to start a SP GB for arrow and WASD keys to replace the awful ones?

Hmm, I though ANSI meant bar-style single height enter key. Oh well.

No, ISO has an extra key (and short leftshift) as well as a weird enter key.
Sometimes they take the |\ key from it's normal position above the enter, and put it elsewhere, and have a "bigass" enter key. I don't know how stringent ANSI is about the keyboards, but it's relatively common. Look at steelseries: they do it that way as well.
-
Yeah why do they have to have the fukin bigass-ed enter key. Pitiful. I would highly recommend the ducky 1087 from Pchome. About $50 shipped to anywhere in the world. Take that amazon (pew pew)! ANSI + Tenkeyless too. They are back in stock for what it's worth.

Mine arrived today, my first mechanical keyboard. What I have noticed is that the keycaps are thin and wobbly, certain keys don't click (num pad 6, pause ) and changing the rubber keycaps would be beneficial, but it seems not possible to get new replacement caps.
