These keycaps where rit dyed for 5+ hours on the left is an undyed set and on the right is one of the dyed keys. The biggest difference is in the engraved sections.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but can I use pcb switches on a plate mounted board?

yes, but you have to snip the plastic pcb-mount tabs off the bottoms of the switches. It's very easy to do.
