Hi guys,
I was about to open an eBay store and I hesitate to pick up a name for it.
So here are some names I came out with:
1. Tang's Geek Box
2. Tang's Box for Geeks
3. Geek Box
4. Geek Zone
FYI, Tang is my last name. Or do you guys think I should use my user name "feng" for the store? Like feng's Geek Box?
Anyway please let me konw what you have in your minds. :)
Thanks a lot.

gang bang feng tang !
I don't know about feng/tang. I think people know you under the feng handle, so it will be easier to recognize you if you name yourself feng.
But I won't mind if you name the shop tang ! :P

Fengs Keyboard Emporium
Edit: didn't see halversons suggestion lol
-
tang's thangs :D
-
On a serious note. I think it should include feng rather than Tang. You have already established your products under the name feng. People refer to your caps as feng's caps etc and suddenly switching to calling them tang's caps from that store will probably cause some confusion. I'd stick with feng as a brand, or at least somewhere in the name.

Feng's Geek Emporium
+1
-
Either Feng's Geek Emporium, or Feng's Keyboard Emporium. Depends on what you will be selling in your store, really.
-
Fengs Keyboard Emporium
Edit: didn't see halversons suggestion lol
Great minds think alike! I do enjoy seeing keyboard in the title, but the only problem I foresee if Feng sells a lot more than just the boards themselves.
-
Just because we know you as feng. I'm voting for Feng's Geek Emporium too :D
-
stay away from feng imo if that's your name, nothing ethnic or
feng tech or feng geek will just sound like some cheap china drop shipper or wholesaler (unless that's what you're going for)
sorry no suggestion on what to name, but only what not to.

Geek-Keys

Geek-Keys
Haha - that was a close second place when I was picking a name for my site.
-
I would go with Fengs. Since it's a more established name for most.
I was getting ready to buy a few things from you on ebay. I was wondering if they user (on ebay) was on here. I'm not far from you on the Illinois side of the river.

I like this name! It's just more like a name for a juice bar? :P
gang bang feng tang !

All right then, I should include feng in the name. :)
Geek Heaven
How about Geek Hell? Since people like the stuffs in my store, but their wallet don't.
Techkeys.us :)
lol then I will be your first distributor? Putting "us" into the name may let people konw that I'm located in the US. But the thing is that after 2 years when I graduate, I'm not sure if I'll stay here or going back to China. :/

That totally makes sense. I'll stick with feng then.

That's what I was thinking as well. I'm mainly selling keyboard's components such as keycaps. Not a big fan of selling keyboards themselves. So maybe putting "geek" into the name would be better than "keyboard".
I just came out a name "I don't sell keyboards" lol guessing it's a pretty impressive name. But in fact, I still sell a few kinds of keyboards. :(

I realized that there're so many companies using the names including "tech". Which is why I came out with "geek". If it still sounds not good enough, what else could be?
Just because we know you as feng. I'm voting for Feng's Geek Emporium too :D
Do you guys think Emporium is the best word to say? I thought of these words: Zone, Box, and Place.
I'm trying to figure out which word sounds the coolest to you. I only know feng's keyboard store is the worst. :)
Geek-Keys
That's pretty cool. I'll keep that in mind. :)

I will still be in the US :)

A lot of us refer to your actual store simply as, 'feng.' I definitely think you should have this part of the name in your store, because it will help new people know where to go.
DanGFenG where'd you get them keycaps MenG?
-
lol let's make the final decision then.
How about Feng's Geek Emporiu? It makes sense and kinda cool. Although I really like the name "Geek-Keys", it doesn't include "feng" as part of the name. And "Feng's Geek-Keys" may sound weird?
-
Somefeng Geeky
haha give this man a prize! epic
-
Feng's Geek Bazaar.
-
Feng's Geek Bazaar.
Bazaar! That might be the word I've been looking for. Not as formal as emporiu, but a bit cooler.
-
Somefeng Geeky or a derivative of somefeng still has my vote :P It is catchy, it gets remembered easily because it is somewhat funny and the abbreviation SG doesn't mean anything else in the community.

It's stupid to ask but can anyone explain it to me why Somefeng Geeky is catchy? And why is it somewhat funny? I just don't get the point. It doesn't make sense to me. @_@

SomeFeng4URBoard! Just since I saw the somefeng, but liked the idea!

because it incorporates your username in a real word sense, it is basically saying SOMETHING GEEKY. hence the mild amusement lol
-
Crazy keyboards. After your name.
For other people who don't get it , Feng = 疯 = Crazy
-
Feng Shuitch Geekmart

Lin's suggestion nailed it.

Nope. Here's your winner...
"It's A Geek Feng"

I like this name, but it's just kinda too long. ;)

Something Geeky! Now I got it. It's really cool. And it's getting more difficult to make the decision. :(
Crazy keyboards. After your name.

Can't believe someone would get my name! lol Maybe Crazy Geek sounds better?
-
Now I have the 3 most beautiful names here:
1. Somefeng Geeky
2. Feng's Geek Bazzar
3. Crazy Geek
The 2nd is the one most close to my original purpose that I need a name for my store to tell people what I'm selling.
But then when I understood what "Somefeng Geeky" hints, I think it's the most impressive and catchy name.
Feng's Geek Bazzar would sound more formal but less interesting than Somefeng Geeky.
I'm trying to make the name sounds cool, not a name that could be easily forgot and ignored. So personally I think I'll vote for Somefeng Geeky.
Much appreciate for you guys' helps! Please push me just a little bit more so we can get to the final decision. :P

Feng's Geek Bazaar.
Bazaar! That might be the word I've been looking for. Not as formal as emporiu, but a bit cooler.
Bazaar, is quite common on ebay plus it sounds to Mideasternly, not a big thing in the US. But Feng's Emporium is more suitable. I think it is an outdated name for a store front, but you are selling everything to do with keyboards (CherryMX...old style) plus you may divulge into other areas like laptops, mobiles, you get the drift. It's time that will sort out what you will sell including what people want the most of.
PLus I always liked visiting some emporiums in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia where almost anything is sold, hidden behind stuff that is stacked to the ceiling, so that you will find stuff you never knew existed but you just have to own it. Best thing of all being treated like a prince/princess when you go there, that's the image you need to instill into people. The service has to be 100% perfect, that way you will get that positive word of mouth happening easily.
Feng's Emporium it kind of fits your name perfectly....... F.E.ng

#2 sounds a bit like you are selling geeks since it is a geek bazaar and not a geeky one.
-
Maybe "Feng's Crazy Keyboard Bazaar"? I like the double Crazy's Crazy and the alliteration of Crazy Keyboard.
Bazaar makes it sound foreign and exotic and lets face it, this is quite the exotic hobbyist pursuit.
-
Feng's Bazaar Things
I like this combo because it's a play on the word Bazaar with Bizarre, and overall it is Feng's Market of Things
-
"feng's fang"
-
T_T seems like we'll never get an agreement on the name.
I think I'll go with the name Somefeng Geeky. It sounds like I'm selling things for geeks, and the name is kinda funny. Unless there's something wrong with the word "geeky"?

yeah man the best name for sure! i know im gonna be going there and its easy to say and reccomend to people!
-
Somefeng geeky is definitely the best out of those three for me too.
It's fun and nerdy which are great things in my book.
-
Do I win something other than your undying admiration? :P
Just kidding... feng helped me out with some nice stuff when I first got started. Name is on the house! ;D

Somefeng Geeky. Done! http://stores.ebay.com/Somefeng-Geeky
Much appreciate for you guys' helps to pick up a name for my eBay store! :D It's finally done and I really like many of the names shown in this thread. Obviously it's hard to make a decision.
@absyrd: you're absolutely getting something man. No kidding. Love your idea. :) How about a 37-keyset of zinc 2nd gen? Or an aluminum POP UP "geekhack" backspace and R4 combo? Let me know and pm me your shipping address. :P

No! Keep your goods. Am happy to come up with the name without a "prize". Like I said, you answered a bunch of questions for me when I first started out, so call it even. :D
