I got my teensy and diodes soldered, and then had to start packing to move.  My garage/workbench aren't going to be accessible for weeks at least now, so in this state it waits.  :-[

When they design those acrylic cases, they need to recess the screw heads so they don't stick out like that. That would be quite annoying especially if your hand is resting where one of them pops up at.

These are the rarest of the rarest acrylic cases from yours truly.  Very nicely matched.  Red switches for red accent.  Blue switches for blue accent.

dont know how you type but, my hands never touch that part of the keyboard. so, screws arent really a problem IMO.

Well, I guess you could just use flat top screws as there really isn't much room to recess the top of it. Just a personal nitpick of mine. Other than that, I think they are fabulous.

I thought that as well but springily it doesn't affect it at all, it's one of those things when you see it you think it will bug you

Yes. And yes. No offense, bud. Just a personal preference of mine.

I mean if your hands touch any keyboard case where the screws are when you type.  I said this before, I run my fingers over the the screw heads as I stop typing and start thinking.  Kind of like playing with your goatee when you go "hum'.

Have the screws sunk is doable, but requires gluing the top two layers of acrylic so the screws can clamp into the second layer without letting the top layer loose.  I chose not to do it, or you would see jizz-like glue stain a la MKC's acrylic cases, especially on clear acrylic cases.

tsangan, I demand a picture of this with black keycaps on, as I'm interested in how mine is going to look in the future. <:

I've been a bit worried about putting a black plate in a white litster case, since I temporarily have a Filco with white plate in mine, and it goes great with black doubleshots.

There are no cases that fit a 7bit layout. I have the 7bit plate, but have no option to make it look nice.

I won't go all-out with the 7bit layout, but I am liking theprofosist's right side cluster.  With layers enabled in the firmware, I could have the regular 6 pack and arrow clusters, and with "numlock" on, the right side could become a numpad cluster.  That would be pretty cool.

nah, I want to have the normal 6-pack layout when it is not in numpad mode.  I just reprogrammed my MX Mini using the Aikon client too.  It is really easy to reprogram after you get over the initial hurdle of finding the client.  We just need a firmware that supports layer.

Mines a bit more traditional then Profs. Still need to do a mod to the cable to make it detachable and I'm also considering modding the plate so I can use the whole dyesub RGB set but that probably won't be for a long time yet (the ISO shift is from MBC's RGB set and looks remarkably good).

60%? is that just the main keys and like a numb pad??? (I'm guessing) they come as a kit?

60% is HHKB/Poker sized. The Phantom is ten keyless form factor.

60% form factor is similar to the Poker.  No function row, and tenkeyless.  In that size, it's also similar to the Poker.  However, the GH60 will be fully customizable so you can program it exactly like an HHKB...but with Cherry MX switches =)

kinda awesome, though I think I'd rather have a fullsized phantom I could mess with the layout... (trying to come up with my perfect layout and I kinda need F-keys... but I would love a more compact size

cheers for the info though :)

Just realize that most people think when you say layout you mean what keycode is assigned to what key switch.  The physical layout is a lot more limited as there are just a few and they are set in stone.

Yeah I was wondering about that, but then saw some of the plates people had and guessed that those would be the limiting factor over what each switch was programmed to do.... and the same goes I guess for the cases too?

Well, the Phantom was designed to fit inside a Filco case, PLU ML87s use the same case design.  Litster did a small run of custom acrylic cases as well.

People are working on case designs for the GH60.  Don't know if any of them will get produced.

Every model of custom keyboard is going to need a case design that will fit it.  Then (like w/ KMAC) you may need a different top frame depending on layout to deal with winkey-less and other factors.

ohh really?? That I didn't realise/know... are the phantom pcb's a one peice you can't **** with? (for example the new one that would be akin to a hhk board, could you fit that inside a standard filco case and then use another board to control the rest of the switches in the board (f-keys/numb pad etc)???

It's pretty much the same thing as HHKB in that pic, but yeah you'll be able to fully customize.  If the GH60 project can somehow coordinate with the KMAC group developing this, cases and PCB will likely be interchangeable.

The Phantom kit kicks ass! :-)  This is a work-in-progress.. still need to get a firmware on it and throw it in a case with some keycaps. It's variable-force, linear action. All keys lubed except the locks. I'll do a clicky version eventually with greens, blues, and white-stem/yellow-springs.

Took a few pictures of my Phantom, but I just remembered I never got around to posting them.

Here's how it looks at the moment (or well, I changed the Esc key for a red one about two weeks ago, but whatever), sorry for the semi-crappy photo:

And a better picture:

Rollen!

A couple of pictures (pictures I'm a little too happy with :> - too bad puu.sh manhandles them and I'm on the world's worst Internet connection :<) of the original dress-up, which in my opinion actually looks better. Too lazy to swap the keycaps though.

Realized it looks kind of nice from behind too:

Really happy with the build, and since I built it I haven't used another keyboard (except for the Filco at work and the rubberdomes on my laptop).

Semi-interesting technical/switch details: at first I only used Greys on the entire keyboard (mostly to test them out), but since my fingers didn't really like it a lot I decided to go with Ergo-Clears instead, which had been my original intention. After having modded a few switches, I noticed they felt a lot lighter and "stickier" than the ones I had on my old (PCB mounted) Poker, and decided to go with Clears instead, which turned out to be the right choice. Feels great now! Also went with Greys for the F-row on a whim, turns out it works well for me. :)

Well, I'm just starting my Phantom project.  I just put this together to get an idea how it would look.

Used a Desko set (one without RGB modifiers) and some 1x cheat keys.  I put the Phantom plate into a Vortex aluminum case, which I want to have anodized to some other color than basic aluminum.

So this is just a first step:

eth0s, how did you manage to fit a phantom plate inside a Vortex case? The Vortex case needs two little bends at the front and back of the plate to mount and the proper height since there are no standoffs in the case.

How could one make it work? Some kind of 2-3mm of material on the internal lip of the Vortex case to lift the plate?

Thanks!  Yeah, the Ragnarok set really looks great with the Litster case.  I kind of wish I had shot some black paint on the plate first.

The blacks are using the stock springs.  They were scavenged from an old Wyse terminal board.  My intent was to replace them with 55g Korean springs or something.  I have a few boards with reds, but this is the first time I've typed on blacks.  The vintage ones are very smooth.  I didn't think I'd like the heavy springs at all, since I don't care for greens and clears for that reason.  However, being linear I guess, it is actually possible to type on these without bottoming out.

I dunno, it fits in there.  Somebody else did it before me and said it works, so I did it too.  I'll try to get some pics.  I haven't soldered the switches yet, so I don't know if it will work, but so far it fits.  Also is fits snug so you don't need to use screws.

The cable plugs into the Teensy 2.0 controller, which uses mini usb.

Anyone put a small mini usb from the teensy to just sticking out a bit, then have a female end on that with another cable going to pc, for quick removal?

I've thought about that, but it depends on the case I'm getting. It's possibly going to be Photekq's, which has a Micro-USB cable out.

Ghetto mounting is never favourable since whatever mounting you use hasn't been designed into the case. It's something you've added yourself, and usually involves breaking the case in some way. Because of this, unless done expertly, it can be messy and insecure which is why I would never do it.

However, a removable cable is still a nice feature which is why I implemented a solid micro usb into my case like intelli has mentioned.

That's cool I was just wondering what other people did. I have neither a phantom or a case...yet!

And photekq your case does look awesome but not sure its within my budget

You need to make it within your budget. I'm going to get an expensive case for sure, because you want a custom case to house your custom keyboard, right?

How so? The cable is just a normal mini usb to usb cable. It is full detachable and should be just as easy to modify.

I first planned making a case out of oak planks, but instead I started working on a plastic case. The top of the "frankencase" is built from a BTC keyboard that has a slight wave to it. The bottom is made of a Key Tronic OEM which is quite low, which I like. The top is just resting on the bottom now - I have yet to build a way to secure the halves together.

I have not decided which colour to paint the case in. Should I choose try to match the off-white keys, or the modifiers, paint it white or black perhaps ... or should I go full retard and paint it beige to make it look vintage?
A silver Phantom sticker will go above the function key row.

Switches are Cherry MX Clear, lubed with RO-59 ... but I don't notice any difference. :(
The key caps are thick Cherry PBT, lasered (was considerably cheaper than dye-sub). They are German now, but I have bought/won on eBay a Swedish set of thin keycaps with a matching look and I intend to replace only those few keys that differ. I do need a matching space bar too.

nobody commented on how awesome Findecanor's phantom looks, good job

in fact i am surprised there isn't a lot of people sharing their phantoms

--

so here is my first phantom i built. it's my first board that i have built for someone else so i took much more care than i usually would.

- WFD125 Plate
- Vortex Aluminium Case - yes it's possible, requires soldering the teensy as close to board as possible and making standoffs to keep the board in place--i used sugru to do it. you also have to put some electrical tape on the bottom of the back of the pcb that is slightly touching the solder points on the pcb, otherwise may short out
- Blue Switches, Springs swapped with 45g korean springs and stickered - Owner's Request was to have super light clicky switches and this absolutely does the job.
- White switch for spacebar
- Off-center Caps Lock
- Pigtail mini usb cable, allows quick disconnect.

This is going into the owner's own vortex case which is red and he has klaxon keycaps, so for display purposes until he gets back from a trip i used my black vortex case and my own keycaps
- GMK Purple Mods and Green Escape Key
- Cherry Double Shot White on Black (the $10 add on option)

Sorry for the crappy pics, all crappy pics here

Glod, that looks great. That caps set looks like it was a perfect fit for the WFD125 layout. Which key did you map to the backspace?

Btw did you make the firmware for that layout yourself? If you did, I know a few people that are looking for the hex file.
Title: Re: Post Your Phantom Pictures Here!
Post by: Glod on Tue, 25 June 2013, 13:27:13
yeah people have been asking me via PM for the WFD125 hex, problem is right now is only got the default ansi fw on it, This was something i built for someone else and he was really serious about him wanting to program it himself.

I could play with it myself and then wipe it before i give it to him in a few weeks but i have been really busy and all over the place. only had time to add those key caps and take some pics. If i end up having time ill def share it in the phantom diy thread. Trying to encourage him to join geekhack also so he can join the discussion lol.

Title: Re: Post Your Phantom Pictures Here!
Post by: Glod on Tue, 25 June 2013, 13:46:48
i do also think it's damn good looking, even more so in person, it's so solid and industrial, with the vortex case you could literally kill someone with it (AND NOT DAMAGE THE KEYBOARD :D)

but the interesting thing is that that is not going to be its final form, it was just being testing out caps and the vortex case

it's actually going to look more like this QFR here:

http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=40937.msg854342#msg854342

because its going to be using the same red case and klaxon caps.

not sure if that still looks good to everyone, the backspace will be replaced with 2 blank white keys i got from SP.

(http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8266/8654127752_2587c90dee.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/panicfx/8654127752/)
^ I will reiterate, this is not a Phantom, it is a QFR being used a placeholder for the phantom

How much does it cost to build a complete phantom keyboard (including case, pcb, switches, keycaps etc...)?

in USD
pcb 35
plate 20
teensy 18
switches .60 ea (depends on the layout 87x for ansi125)
keycaps ~50
case depends on what you get if you are lucky you can get a filco case for like 35

then you need soldering stuff.

Probably another 20$ for assembling, switches tuning is extra too. Shipping as well? I think it comes close to 200$

My current setup of my Phantom :)

Originally built by DanGWanG, springs modded by myself. Sitting in a Filco Multicam TKL Case with a nice Wyse DS set. Alpha's, numbers, and arrow cluster are 62g, spacebar is 65g, and everything else including mods are 55g. The Tenkey is a Cherry G80-3700 custom painted with some Krylon  "Camo Green" paint that was extra leftover from when the previous owner of my Trek 830 bike painted the bike. Vintage blacks with clipped cherry stabs.

Sorry for potato pics, phone camera was all I had at the time. Can try to get some higher res pics if you guys would like

I had to use the second capslock key as my left shift as the actual left shift key was rubbing on the side of the case for some reason and was causing the key to stick.

The Tenkey is a Cherry G80-3700 custom painted with some Krylon  "Camo Green" paint that was extra leftover from when the previous owner of my Trek 830 bike painted the bike. Vintage blacks with clipped cherry stabs.

I had to use the second capslock key as my left shift as the actual left shift key was rubbing on the side of the case for some reason and was causing the key to stick.

Here's my Phantom, 1st keyboard build and works perfectly. The Wiki on DT has all info step by step very helpful. I'ts been very rewarding and given me a better understanding modern mechanical keyboard construction. I put my diode's on the controller side of the board as WFD does in his excellent YouTube build video. I'm still looking for a case to put it in, but cant resist trying it out on a folded towel. I used some vintage blacks with some 55g springs & and it feels nice, the vintage blacks are vey smooth. I just have to learn to program the controller to my customization.

You don't see asking newb questions often, but what's the TMK firmware, and what's the benefit of it over the stock firmware?

I just use it because with the stock one I had problems with fn keys and media keys.

Its probably the best keyboard firmware out there. Also with 'magic button' combination to boot into bootloader. Its nice not to open the case every time you want to change something :-)

There's a thread about it in the "Making Stuff Together!" section. Developed by Hasu, it's just (as far as I can tell) a more simplified firmware with a boatload more options. Full USB NKRO vs the 6KRO before I switched, some insane amount of function layers you can add, simplified changing of keymaps, I might not doing much justice to it, so here's a link to the thread haha. http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=41989.0

EDIT: Here's the main feature list from the Github; (It also works for a bunch of different boards and controllers :) )

Code: [Select]
Features

These features can be used in your keyboard.

Multi-layer Keymap - Multiple keyboard layouts with layer switching
Mouse key - Mouse control with keyboard
System Control Key - Power Down, Sleep, Wake Up and USB Remote Wake up
Media Control Key - Volume Down/Up, Mute, Next/Prev track, Play, Stop and etc
USB NKRO - 120 keys(+ 8 modifiers) simultaneously
PS/2 mouse support - PS/2 mouse(TrackPoint) as composite device
Keyboard protocols - PS/2, ADB, M0110, Sun and other old keyboard protocols
User Function - Customizable function of key with writing code
Macro - Very primitive at this time
Keyboard Tricks - Oneshot modifier and modifier with tapping feature
Debug Console - Messages for debug and interaction with firmware
Virtual DIP Switch - Configurations stored EEPROM(Boot Magic)
Locking CapsLock - Mechanical switch support for CapsLock
Breathing Sleep LED - Sleep indicator with charm during USB suspend
Backlight - Control backlight levels

Batmann, check the fitment if the PCB/plate inside that Vortex case. It's not a perfect fit because the plate doesn't have two 90degree bends like stock Filco plates, so you need this adapter to raise it up:

Thanks WFD,
I saw this but I'll go for sugru standoffs,
for now I used clay while waiting for my order to arrive!

Also that PCB could really use an integrated controller, the teensy is annoying when it comes to room management

Here is my Phantom disguised as a Ducky. It's has a QFR case with removable cable. The caps are what I had available but I'll replace them with some nicer ones in the future. I think some Dolch would be nice. It has vintage blacks from a WYSE board with 55g springs. This is my first build and I'm real happy with it.

Mine here is a little different from the HHK150 from the GB.

HHK150 (painted black):

The one I built uses a 6-unit spacebar, and has a 2.50-unit open space on the right, with no holes on the outsides for switches in the bottom row.

I messed up my stabilizer spacing on this plate, so I had to stem mod my 6-unit DSA spacebar to make it work. I used stabilizer spacing from a Cherry 6-unit spacebar, but with a centered stem. The DSA stab stems are closer to the middle.

Some updated pics of my Phantom. I used a QFR case but hate the rubberized finish so I painted it with some Rustoleum metallic paint (satin nickel) it makes it look like a metal case now. It also matches my computer what should come with Apples instead of the cheap junk they come with. When I get some better keycaps I will do a different paint scheme, I have 2 more top covers from the GH Anniversary deal Cooler Master had going on.

Here is my final completed Phantom the way I had originally envisioned it to be. It turned out fantastic considering it my first keyboard build! All the components were found on GH classifieds Phantom kit, vintage black switches, QFR (case donor), Cherry plate mount stabs., and the Dolch caps. The only thing not is the 62g Korean springs from Originative. Not up to the cost for a Korean Kustom (Kmac or LZ) this Phantom will give me a good as it gets Cherry MX experience.

Yes I painted that with Rust-Oleum Universal Metalic paint and primer in one Satin Nickel. It turned out nice looking like a bead blasted alum. case. I just wet sanded the rubberized finish off and painted it, good stuff.

Mine here is a little different from the HHK150 from the GB.

HHK150 (painted black):
Show Image
(http://imgur.com/OKCS37t.jpg)

The one I built uses a 6-unit spacebar, and has a 2.50-unit open space on the right, with no holes on the outsides for switches in the bottom row.

I messed up my stabilizer spacing on this plate, so I had to stem mod my 6-unit DSA spacebar to make it work. I used stabilizer spacing from a Cherry 6-unit spacebar, but with a centered stem. The DSA stab stems are closer to the middle.

JD, please, this plate of yours - it fits into the "official" phantom PCB? They are selling the PCB at mechanicalkeyboards.com and I would like to know if it works with that PCB.

JD, I know we discussed that thing, and then I looked into my box of wonders, and I realized I actually did buy that plate. I guess I was ahead of my time in thinking it might be something I wanted. Unfortunately, MX... I'm not sure if I should keep it just in case, and grab a white Phantom PCB or what.

after all this mess http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=26742.msg1075038#msg1075038 i finally got my 2nd Phantom together

The story behind this phantom is that it was built for the cheapest you can build one for. About a half year ago Amazon had some cherry mx blue QFR Rapids for only $55. i grabbed two. One of them i sold the PCB and i had all the parts, like the plate and case and i never ended up using the switches. So when MK came along and stocked PCBs i decided to make one using the plate and case that was collecting dust

The case is not painted, its white vinyl wrap. It looks better in pictures than it does in person, though it was my first try i think i can do better. The plate was painted white.

sadly i found that i have lost the backspace cap to my raindrop set :(

I still have 2 Phantom PCBS and 1 of those is for myself, ill be putting ergo clears on it and using a case made by MOZ. excited....

The Ono Sendai Cyberspace 7 was the deck that the main character of Neuromancer, Case, used. it was apparently SUPER LEET and my 16 year old self though it would be equally LEET to name my ****t PC after it, and i've retained the tradition since.

I know its an old post but I just had to comment. That is one of the best looking keyboards I think I've ever seen. The exposed bolts on the acrylic case have beautifully raw appearance. The red and black colors go so well together. I would do hideous, despicable things for that case without hesitation.

I've been debating buying a phantom pcb from mechanicalkeyboards and seeing this makes me want to build one of my own just like it (except ANSI 125).

I seriously can't get over how much I like this. It has a very industrial look and I've always loved cases with exposed plates. Even the finish on the plate seems immaculate.

Any chance we could get a few pictures of the bottom? I'm curious whether the bolts thread right into the bottom plate or if you used fasteners to sandwich everything together. From these pictures it looks like you tapped threads into the bottom plate.

The bottom is uninteresting. It is literally a copy of the top plate with no switch holes. :D

I didn't actually use bolts and spacers. I used threaded standoffs and 4-40 machine screws. That eliminated the need for me to tap threads into the plates.

I did add a couple of rubber bumpers as feet, so that it's not just sitting flat on the desk. If I had some steel bar stock, I would have had it cut in half and holes drilled for bolts, to make a "bar foot" like LZ used in his latest designs.

I had to use such long standoffs due to the Teensy mounted on the underside of the Phantom PCB. For a PCB with an onboard controller, I could have probably used 3/8" or 7/16" length standoffs.

I know. And the nice thing is that those PCE boards have ten stabs so I have enough of these to do two boards if I am careful. The other five will go on a gh60 I think.

I wanna say that one board was made somewhere unusual according to the sticker, but I cannot remember where.

I'm not totally happy with it.
I did a few adaptations in the original wyse control keycaps in order to use it here but I couldn't find one 'alt' key nor the dammed menu and win keys.

Finished my Phantom build on Saturday (also my first full keyboard build!), so time for some pictures!

It has a stainless steel plate in a winkeyless layout, and it's inside of a Vortex aluminum TKL case, using Leslieann's awesome adapters to fit it in the case. White Filco-style LEDs, RainDrop R2 keyset, Ionospheric Blue Skull CC.

The case doesn't quite fully close, because of the Teensy on the bottom of the Phantom. It's open a hair, but it's pretty unnoticeable.

The switches are buttery smooth vintage blacks from an old Wyse board, with 50g gold-plated springs, soon to be lubed with thick Geekhackers formula and stickered with sky blue stickers (waiting for stuff still). Clipped Cherry stabilizers all around. I will be installing an MX lock switch in the scroll lock position, but I'm still waiting for the switch to arrive. I'm also REALLY on the lookout for 4 or 5 Nixdorf blacks for the WASD and Esc keys, but they seem impossible to find so I'm kind of giving up hope there.

I still need to pick a nice cable from Zeal, but other than that and the other stuff I am waiting on, it's complete. I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with RainDrop or use my set of Miami Odessa R2 when it arrives.

These pictures are crappy quality, so I'm going to see if I can get some better pictures later on.

Thanks Hoff!  ;D It must really be nice, because I know you have good taste.  :thumb:

I'm rather proud of it, fitting it into the case was a bit tricky to figure out but totally worth it.

I'm looking forward to many more builds and modded boards, but I don't think my wallet is.  :))

Super jealous of your Skeldon Phantom by the way, crazy sick board.  :-*

Very, very nice build! It looks very similar to an LZ-S I once owned. I approve of the 86-key Phantom layout! ;)

I'm really glad those vintage blacks went to good use. I feel bad for hoarding them for so long and not using them. Great work, meow!

Hoarding WYSE parts, who would even do that...?

Don't look in my basement.

Thank you JD! I love the board, it's everything I wanted it to be! The only thing irking me is the spacebar stabilizer, it rattles a lot on the way back up.. not sure how to fix it besides greasing it.

I think the next board on my list is a winkeyless KMAC (one day!), but I'd love to own an LZ TKL. Do you have any pictures of that board? I'd love to take a look at it.

The 86 key layout of the Phantom is great. The 1.5x bottom row is just so nice to look at! And I've never used the menu key anyway.  :))

The switches feel great, there were a few chattering duds, but I had more than enough spares to replace them. Thanks again for hooking me up with them! This board definitely deserved them.

Picture spam incoming! Recently did some work on my existing White PCB Phantom and finally found a good enough reason to assemble my black PCB Phantom.

First up is the black PCB Phantom. It's setup as ANSI150 with Costar stabs (it took me a very long time to find a 7u costar wire). I chose to install the diodes facing the plate to give the back of the PCB a cleaner look. I also took the time to flush cut both the diodes and switch legs to give the cleanest look possible. Switches are lubed (thick) 67g Zealios. Installed SIP sockets on the LED's. Placed into a Filco Ninja case with some pitch black PBT dye-subs on top.

I traded my Beast Ti switch tools to a Canadian member here who I believe got the 7u wire from WFD quite a while ago.

I'm slowly warming up to the thought of building one of these, but both locating a case and Teensy programming are holding me back at this point.  I would have thought the lack of soldering skills would have made me hesitate, but the controller and case seem bigger obstacles.

Teensy programming is the easy part.  Phantom is supported in EasyAVR, then you just flash the .HEX with PJRC's Teensy loader.  It will take you longer to setup your keymap in the GUI than it will to flash the controller.  It's stupid easy.  :P

As far as cases go, you could always make your own.  :D

Not going to be making my own case.  It is a lot for me to even entertain light industrial activities (such as soldering) without even thinking about things like machine work.

Good to hear about the Teensy.  EasyAVR seems a lot simpler than the other alternatives I have seen.

Are Filco cases sold separately?  I saw a lot of talk in phantom related posts circa 2013 that the cases were sold separately, jus twondering if that was still a thing.  If I wanted to go all out (which I might), I see that mechanicalkeyboards has an aluminum case that's stated to be phantom + plate compatible.

+1

A person at any experience will be able to program easily!

Check this thread:
https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=51252.0

The GUI is super easy to use! All you need to is program the initial time by pressing the teensy button and then you can have a bootable button on a keyboard layer to go back whenever you need to program(WITHOUT OPENING THE CASE :))

Hopefully see you on this thread with your build soon :)

I didn't cut those plates myself, I had them done at a local shop.  It was about $65 for bottom and switch plate together including material.  The other parts are just from a hardware store.

The MK.com Filco case fits a Filco, which the Phantom was designed around, so it'll fit a Phantom too by default.  If you get one I would also get a plate that was designed to fit the Filco case so you don't run into any fitment issues.  MK sells those too.  :)

mk.com seems to have both a case and plate that will fit a phantom build.  Not cheap, but I don't mind as an ongoing project assuming everything actually fits.  I'm still interested to see if Filco TKL cases are available so I bring the costs down, but it all seems to exist and are available once I have the cash.

I'm intrigued by the possibilities of plate mounting switches.  If I understand things properly, once I get everything soldered down, I can switch cherry types but just pulling the tops and swapping stems and springs.  Sure beats the alternative of having to de-solder everything to make a change.
