Hi.
Im about to buy a new Filco, after browsing Geek Hack for a week or so, trying to figure out what keyboard to buy ! I got it down to either the Filco or wait for the Ducky Shine II, but eventually came to the conclusion, that i didnt really need a backlit keyboard ( Even though it looks awesome ! )
I got one concern about the Filco though, before i buy it.
Ive read that it has ABS keycaps, that wear and will start to shine fairly quickly.
So my question is. Is its possibel to get PBT keycaps with nordic layout for the Filco ? Looked on a bunch of sites, but cant seem to find any with the nordic layout.

Where do you live?
In sweden our only option atm is Ducky Full PBT keycap set black engraved here: http://www.maxfps.se/product_view.aspx?productid=5367
and Ducky Full PBT keycap set laser etched printing: http://www.maxfps.se/product_view.aspx?productid=5368
They are nordic layout but are super expensive. Cost like 65-67€ which is quite alot of money just for some normal keycaps.

I live in Denmark.
They money isent the big issue, because i cashed out in Diablo 3, so got a little extra money, that i wanna spend on a new keyboard.
The laser etched keys looks nicest. Will they last for a good amount of time, without getting shiny or the lettering worn out ?

Since I havent used them I dont know, maybe someone who have used the Ducky laser etched ones can fill you in regarding that.
Would recommend the engraved ones though. They will last a lifetime. Though I agree that the Laser etched ones looks the best.

Thanks for the feedback anyway though :)
One more question.
Ive got alot of doubt about what cherry key i should order. Im struggeling between black and brown.
Its gonna be my first mechanical keyboard.

That is something I or noone cannot decide. its very personal what you like the most. For example out of the four usual cherry switches I like reds the most but you might not.
Also are you gonna be gaming or typing? If typing you could do well with mx blue. If gaming and typing I would say reds but some might say browns (though I think browns tactile feeling is so minimal its just annoying and feel bad). So basically you gotta try yourself. Best would be to try them all if you can locally. I know its kinda hard to find if you arent living in a major town (I couldnt here where I live).

If those ducky keycaps are the same as the ones used on the Ducky shine board i really would not recommend them, the coating/finish is very slippery and they almost feel like worn out filco caps. i owned a ducky shine with brown switches but sold it just because of the keycaps, i really couldnt stand the slippery feeling, i constantly hit the wrong keys or two keys simultanionsly because my fingers would slip on the slick keys.
a friend of mine with, lets say questionable morals, went so far as to connect his board to a car battery and broke it (short circuit) so he could use his warranty to get a new board when his keycaps where completley worn out. but imo thats really low, he should be grateful that filco is finally avaible in nordish layout and that some stores have ordered them, not **** both parts over like that.

No, those keycaps does not come on the Ducky shine board. These come on some Ducky G2PRO models (the ones who are a little more expensive and it says PBT in the title). The ones on all Ducky shines (from that store) are usual ABS keycaps. I know there is some dumb text under the caps about the Shine but these have nothing to do with the Shine, they are just too lazy to edit the text.

I did finally find a seller here in Denmark, that sells the Ducky PBT laser etched, so order a set for a whole lot cheaper, if i had order from the site you linked to.
So now im just waiting, for the keycaps and keyboard to show up. Hopefully some time this week, along with a new Razor Deathadder and Qck+ :)
I ended up buying the Filco with Brown Cherry keys, because i do about 50/50 of gaming and typing.
