Hey guys! I am having a bit of a difficult time choosing between a Topre Realforce 103U, and a Noppoo Choc Mini (Cherry MX Brown), I have been using a HHKB Pro2 for quite some time, and I really can say that from the keyboards I have owned it would definitely have to be my favorite in terms of the way the keys feel, sound, and overall design. I want the Choc Mini because it is also very small, which I really like, it kind of reminds me of the HHKB Pro JP, I also want it because I haven't owned a Cherry MX Brown keyboard. I would like to get the 103U because I am already in love with the Topre switches and would like to have a full-sized keyboard using them. So basically, what I am trying to ask is how do the Brown switches compare to the Topre ones in feel and sound, and which keyboard do you think would be the best decision to purchase? By the way, I am currently running Ubuntu 12.04 if that makes any difference.

If you can afford the Realforce, get it.
Like you I started with a Topre, and I just don't like the feel of the browns when I'm using my friends' brown keyboards. Actually I had a go with a Cherry Switch Tester and I can say in terms of similarity with Topre it's
Ergo Clears > Reds > Browns
Thats also my level of enjoyment, though I'd put Blues actually around the same place as Reds.
Basically, the Browns will have the same weighting but the feel just feels off coming from Topres.

The Choc Mini isn't ugly! It's only ugly at stock. ;)
Despite having no experience with Topre, it's obvious that if you can afford the realforce, then get it! If you're starting, then why not start with one of the best?
