Title: What touch typing software to suggest to new typists?
Post by: aycko on Tue, 28 August 2012, 14:40:36
Hi,

recently some of my friends asked me if I could tell them a good source to learn touch typing. As I have learned it about a decade ago myself with some weird freeware tool on some PC magazine CD, I did not have any good advice. I just told them google "touch typing online" and pick any one.

Are there big differences between desktop and online applications? Is it worth paying for a better touch typing tutor? What do you think?

I like typingweb  (http://www.typingweb.com) for structured practice and typeracer (http://www.typeracer.com)for competition/fun.  Good luck...

Typing of the Dead, since it is at least slightly entertaining as well.
