Title: Cable swap, how/will this work?
Post by: tgujay on Fri, 31 August 2012, 22:43:46
So I have a really old Chicony with a DIN cable, I have some ****ty cheap rubber dome with a PS/2 cable, can I just plug in this PS/2 cable and work?  Cut the wires and swap connectors?  If I did that which wires would go to which?  DIN on left PS/2 on the right.

Sure AT and PS/2 is the same. Unfortuneatly cables wire has not standard in color. Best to pull PS/2 cable from board that has them marked. It is very easy when there is no guessing. Otherwise you can plug it in and check it with a meter too.
