That's expensive. The 256Gb Vertex 4 was $189 a few weeks ago on Amazon. I believe it's quite a bit faster than this one too.

Yep, Intel SSDs are poor value for money. It's still a great deal, but you could do better.

the 520 series is higher endurance and more stable than the ocz equivalent. worth the premium for a high duty ssd

I don't know I've been running 2 OCZ Vertex 3 120 mb on raid 0 for months now and haven't had any issues. No BSOD, runs just as fast as ever, fast boot and shut down times. However, ymmv.

I like my mushkin chronos deluxe (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226226). These are really nice drives and use high end toshiba toggle nand.

I love my Intel X25M-G2 160gb but have been needing something bigger. I'm a bit scared to get a 520 series drive because I keep reading about problems people are having with instability due to the Sandforce controller and BSODs. Seems like the Samsung 830 is the best out there right now along with the Plextor M5 and Crucial M4. But I still love Intel so I haven't bought anything!

Great idea to make a SSD deal thread. You should change to title to just "SSD deals" instead of just labor day.
This seems like the year of the SSD's where there is the largest price cuts on SSDs. I bought these back when the first OCZ ssd came out (Core series v1), and intel's revolutionary 80gb x25-m that launched in 2008 for ~$600. Now to see much better/faster SSD's out that are larger capacity at only a fraction of the original x25m's price is a huge progress. This advancement in SSDs is even faster than Moore's law.

128gig for the same price as the 64gig. My understanding is Newegg had these on sale and people got it price matched at Amazon, so I don't know how long it will last.

Yeah prices are crazy now, the small ones are just a terrible, terrible buy. No reason to even look at anything under 240GB. Like when I bought mine not too long ago the 240GB deluxe was cheaper than the 120GB standard. Quite funny.

When I started looking to get another, I was just looking for a small ~32gig to use as a back up for my raid 0 Intels. I just couldn't see spending $50-$60 for a 32-60gig drive when the 128gig I linked was only 85. Plus it'll be quicker than the Intels I have ;D

Have we established a baseline to determine whether or not something is a good deal? What is the market level at right now for 120GB and 240 GB drives? This way I know whether or not to post the deals that get e-mailed to me or not, lol.

$75 is quite good for a 128GB (as long as you get a respectable controller/brand), I've seen 256GB go for $170. The SanDisk 240GB is $160 at TigerDirect.
