So my Rapoo got trashed a while back, and I just got around to harvesting the switches. They're Cherry knock offs and are identical to MX Reds as far as I can tell; the housing is different though. One interesting thing to note is that they're all installed upside down on the board with the LED at the bottom. I assume this is because there are only two switches with LEDs on the board and those are in the top right corner.

Interesting! How heavy do you reckon the spring is?
Also, I'm curious as to how these are related, if at all, to the fake Cherries in other cheap Chinese boards, like the Genius M1 or Newmen GM-10. Wonder if there's a company trying to be a new significant switch manufacturer, or if keyboard makers are simply brewing their own switches to control supply and save money...

I Ripometered the switches when I received the board and they came in at 45 grams. As far as being related to other knock offs, I'd say check the switch housing and see if the numbers start off the same or the clips to open it match?

I've looked at the Newmen for a while now, and I've only come across 3 photos of the switches. From what I can tell, the housing looks very close; they look like they open up the same as these Rapoo switches. However the Newmen says "Kailh" on the top of the switch where as the Rapoo says "PG1511". That doesn't necessarily prove they're not made by the same company, but I would think if there were a company mass producing switches there'd be some continuity. I would expect them to be, for example, PG1511 for yellow (knock off of red), PG1512 for green (knock off of blue), and so on. But who knows.
